Now that was a game. Invited my dad and mom, they couldn't get within 5 blocks of Aldrich, so they didn't even bother trying to park. My brother made it. As I recall, Mike Guentzel rushed over after the gopher game to see it as well. Standing room only. That was a crazy night. Holy Angels was a little better, but we managed to tie them. Was a lot of fun...

Sheesh - I didn’t have Pioneer supporters handwringing about a 3-0 win over their arch rival on my bingo card tonight.

Most of these HM v WBL games are slogs. The Bears knew their best chance at a win was to muck things up and hope Gabriel would steal it for them. Hill knew it was going to be a grinder game and did what was necessary to get a fairly straightforward wire-to-wire W. Not every game is going to be running time gents!
