Last year Two Rivers won their first ever game against HM in a 3-2 OT victory. They have a decent record this year, interested to see if they can keep it close. They did lose 8-0 to STA. HM plays STA on Tuesday night, so we'll see whether they come out flying on Thursday.

HM takes another major in the first period, Two Rivers scores twice (only the 2nd and 3rd pp goals against for HM all year), to go up 2-1. All HM from there as they win 7-2.

Park holds on in OT to tie WBL 2-2.

Cretin beats Stillwater 4-3. Stillwater appears to be in a funk right now.

Not a good showing for the top 4AA teams last night. Stillwater has lost 2 of 3, the win being a not-so-spectacular 4-2 victory over Forest Lake. The Bears had a couple of nice wins over Hermantown and Stillwater, sandwiched between a loss to Hill and this tie. Cottage Grove has a nice record, but those wins aren't against any notable competition. Hill has now taken 5 minute game misconducts in back-to-back contests - which is not winning hockey. That might fly against Two Rivers, and they miraculously didn't give up a goal when they did it against STA, but good teams will capitalize in sections or at state.

Caught the 4-2 of BSM over EP. EP's winless streak continues, but it was a better effort than the Hermantown game. EP actually scored first, then BSM rattled of 4 straight goals. My brother says EP is done, but I'm still holding out hope, but it's not much.

MNHockeyTV stream froze up during the 2nd and lost 6 minutes of the game. It was my first game of my subscription I just paid for the second half of the season, mainly for Lake Conference play, and I'm not too impressed. If that's any indicator of streaming issues, it will be my last month of being a subscriber.

I can't watch the live streams of high school games. I watched one last year and it was terrible.

The MN Hockey stream also froze for a while during the Hibbing game last night. On the whole, I think the subscription is well worth it, as 99% of the time there aren't any issues. However, there are a few venues where you can't see the scoreboard and they don't always put the score and/or clock up in the corner of the screen, which is a weird way to watch a game, especially if you just want to check in and watch a part of it.

They only gave two periods of the HM and Sibley game, but it didn't much matter to me. They do have a crap ton of games, do show JV which I like to watch with my team. And they do have a bunch of section games. But often without announcers and some arenas you can't even tell the score. As someone in Cali, its better than nothing...

We plan on moving from the land of 10000 taxes when my wife retires and I will miss high school hockey big time. I won’t give up our tourney tickets and will be back every March. So I may need to watch the horseshit live streams at some point.
Third time watching Park yesterday. First was that 10-2 beat down by Stillwater and then their win at Woodbury.
There top line with Cornish and Moss is really good and gave WBL trouble all night in their tie last night. They play Cretin tomorrow and we will see if they are contenders.

Well, if you’re ever looking to be a donor for tourney tickets, I’ll gladly take them off your hands for whatever you want to be comp’ed for them. 🙂

I’m on the waiting list, but I’ll probably be shoveling my own grave (I’m 44) before I get the call since people keep them to flip them for $$$.

The major in the STA game was mitigated by an STA minor that expired with about 30 seconds left in the major.

I thought I got on in 2015, but I wasn’t receiving any updates so once they went to E-tickets during Covid I checked in and I think that my initial snail mail request got somehow misplaced. I also moved out of MN late 2019 and I think that created some confusion. Doesn’t seem like their much is turnover. I wouldn’t be surprised if the waiting list is more like 20-25 years realistically.

Just got an email stating I wasn’t one of the lucky recipients this year, but I know I’m at least on the list now. I’m ok with it. We’re kind of in a lull from where MN HS hockey was 5-10 years ago. I think Covid stunted development a bit at the youth level and we’re seeing the effects of it now at the HS level. Should see an upswing the next few years with stronger tourney fields and more star power with NHL-ready potential I think.

I saw on Twitter from someone who got off the waitlist this year that they’d been on the list for 19 years. Not great.

Got mine when they opened the X. Lots of tickets were available then (no waiting list). Been selling them to an ex co-worker who takes her daughter every year. I'll eventually start coming back to watch again.

Gave em up a while back but might try again since Duluth East won’t be there anymore.

Got mine in 2006 on the first try. Decent seats too. Have had chances to upgrade but I kept the same seats.
