History Made at the 2025 Tourney

Post by cjmhockey19 »

First time ever the #2 seed has lost in the quarterfinals in girls tourney history (BOTH classes)

Rosemount with an impressive upset over Centennial/SLP.

The #1 seed is now the lone seed to never have lost a first round game in girls tourney history.

Also for comparison #3 seed is (29-4 all time in quarters), #4 seed is (23-10 all time in quarters)

I couldn't remember the last time a #7 beat a #2 in the girl's tournament. I guess there's a reason why, it had never happened before. Wow. first time for everything. Looks like Rosemount had a 2-goal lead at a couple points in the game.

Rosemount played great. Centennial seemed to be gripping their sticks and just couldn't quite score even though they had the better of the play. Somehow my HM team beat Andover, which I didn't see coming. HM beat Rosemount 6-0 earlier this year, but I bet you its far closer tomorrow night...

I didn't see any of the Rosemount/Centennial game, but I would not be surprised if one of the keys was the fact that Rosemount was making its third straight trip to state while Centennial didn'thave that kind of tournament experience.

I agree. Cent/SLP was there two years ago and had a great team last year too. But without looking, I would also bet Rosemount might have had more seniors who already experienced the previous 2 years. Either way, better team won that day.
