Cancer does suck. Sorry to hear of the news.
I never had any face-to-face interactions with him, but I know how well he was respected in the high school hockey community.

I have been too busy to share my thoughts in writing and will be sure to post it here when I get around to it in the coming days.
Be kind. Rewind.

So sad - rest in peace. You were an excellent husband, father and grandfather.

Re: RIP WEST METRO
Horrible news! I didn't know he was sick. Such a nice guy. RIP Westy.
I met John and big Mike at Braemar probably around 2019. He introduced me to all his friends and watched a pretty good game. Probably an East Metro team.
He remembered me and also went out of his way to say hello at state. Also during Covid went out of his way to ask me if I wanted to see a game. I think it was Blake against Gentry Academy. Only game I saw that year.

A kind man. Rest well.
Re: RIP WEST METRO
Hockey certainly lost a great ambassador. John was a great guy, fun to watch a game with.

Have had the opportunity to share back-and-forth emails with John over the years. While we didn't always agree on issues, I admired his integrity. RIP John. Your contributions will be missed here and elsewhere.

I didn't know Westy at all but enjoyed his postings. Sounds like a hell of a nice guy.

I was fortunate enough to meet Westy at the Edina Classic several years back. You won’t find a nicer guy. He then included me in a group text with a couple other really good hockey people. I learned a ton over the years in that group.
When the first game kicks off today in the greatest tournament in sports, I gotta believe John will have the best seat in the house.
One of the best hockey fans ever will be sorely missed.

Never met him in person, but his kindness and love for the game emanated through his presence on here. A loss for the Minnesota hockey community. RIP, Westy.

RIP John. Great guy, you will be missed. Arguably he added more to this bored over the years than anyone.
