8A SF- #1 Warroad vs #4 TRF

#1 Seed Warroad (20-5-1) comes into this game having blown out Park Rapids in their Section 8A Quarterfinal game. The Warriors got a bunch of production all over the lineup in the blowout win, but as normal, their top line of Sr. Ryan Shaugabay & Jr. Gavin Andersen & 9th grader Rodrick Jackson carried the day. Goalie Jr Finn Hanson picked up his 5th shutout in net of the year. Now they move on to take on a Thief River Falls team that has played much better hockey down the stretch to make them more dangerous coming into this one. Warroad did beat the Prowlers twice during the year, though the second game at Ralph Engelstad Arena, and the Warriors had to pull out late to show this will not be any easy game as they look to advance to the Section 8A Final game for the 8th straight year.

#4 seed Thief River Falls (12-12-1) enters this one off a later game dramatic comeback win over Crookston in their 8A Quarterfinal win. The Prowlers trailed throughout the game, but they were able to make a 3rd period comeback as their duo of Jrs. Spencer Anderson & Hudson Brouse led the way for a big comeback win to get them back into the semifinal round after missing out for the first time in over 20 years last season. Now they will have the advantage of playing on their home ice and with nothing to lose, as the Warriors will be the heavy favorite in this one. They did play Warroad very tight the last time they met on this same sheet of ice, and they will look to their goaltender Sr. Cooper Roff to have a big game to pull off the potential upset bid here.
