4A SF- #2 Chisago Lakes vs #6 Tartan/North

#2 seed Chisago Lakes (15-8-3) comes into this game having cruised past #7 Simley in the 4A Quarterfinals. The Wildcats were able to get plenty of scoring, led by Srs. Jacob Kletti, Colton Horak & Max Koch in their big double-digit goal win. Now they will take on Cinderella #6 Tartan/North in the Section 4A Semifinals in a game where, on paper, they should be the favorite to win. However, a closer look would show that Chisago Lakes was susceptible to upsets this year as they were knocked off by times like Cambridge, Sauk Rapids & Pine City during the year. So it really depends on which Wildcats group shows up, but they looked focused and ready in their opening win as they are looking to make their 4th Section 4A Final Game in the last 5 years.

#6 Seed Tartan/North (11-15-0) comes into this game earning a Section 4A Semifinal appearance when they pulled the big upset, taking down #3 Irondale in the 4A Quarterfinals in a double overtime thriller. The Titans got a great offensive effort from Soph. Devon Shier, who scored two goals, including the game-winner. In net, though, is their lynchpin as Goaltender Jr. Nathan McGuire was excellent as he has been all year long. He is the X factor that makes this team so dangerous, as he keeps them in every game and is at his best when taking a lot of shots. They now head to the Section 4A Semifinal as the underdog, taking on #2 Chisago Lakes, whom they have not faced this year, and they will have nothing to lose as they look to shock the Class A world yet again in this one.
