Let's hope MSHSL and the coaches tamp down this business of taking off medals and having to be persuaded to accept the runner-up hardware.
I know in the old WCHA the winner of the conference tournament would not pick up the McNaughton Cup, "That's not the trophy we want." I always found that to be performative and just silly. To be a state finalist is an accomplishment, act like it.
