Moorhead beats Elk River 3-1. Bemidji vs. Moorhead in the finals. Should be a good game. It was very close the last time these two teams matched up.

Bemidji and Sartell/Sauk Rapids game last night was a nail-biter for both teams. Bemidji couldn't score because of great goaltending from Haroldson and a good defense that helped to get the puck away from the net. And late in the game after it was tied a goal was waved off with a quick whistle that would have put Sartell/Sauk Rapids up 2-1. But Bemidji kept the pressure on and got a point blank shot past Haroldson for the win. Sure think she showed how great a goalie she has been for the last 6 years as a full time starter, I think the rest of the girls also played very hard and never gave up. Great job Sartell/ Sauk Rapids and good luck to the Lumberjacks. I hope they go all the way.

Sartell/Sauk Rapids was an underrated team I believe.

I was there. It actually was a good hockey game. (Except for the score, especially if you are a Bemdiji fan.) Moorhead had a great game plan and they did it perfectly. The first goal caught teh Bemdiji D leaning forward as #15 (who played great for Moorhead) got a loose puck and wnet in all alone on Bradel. The second goal was a little bit of a fluke. #15 got a shot off from the top of the circle area. Teh puck was on end but she caught it just right and it sort of fooled everyone including Bradel. The third goal Bemidji turned it over at their own blueline by stickhandling rather than getting it out of the zone. Moorhead came in with 4 players to 1 and another goal. 3-0 after the first. But teh puck was in the moorhead zone as much or more than the Bemidji zone. Moorhead played very well defensively. Their goalie made a lot of saves. No huge saves. But saves none the less. I believe Bemidji outshot Moorhead by 2 or 3 int he first period and outshot them for the game. After that it was back and forth. For a while in the second period Bemidji kept it in the mOorhead zone constantly, but Moorhead did not give up any quality scoring chances. Bemidj scored in the 3rd to make it 4 - 1 but Moorhead cma e back in about a minute to make it 5 -1 and then the EN to make it 6 - 1. Bradel played okay. The second goal she may have had and the 4th goal she should not have given up the rebound. But 3 of the 5 goals were pretty much here against the world. Refs did a fine job. One of theose games, both team played very hard. Moorhead got opportunities and a scored. Bemidji controlled a lot of the play but did not get opportuinties. Both teams played hard. Moorhead played better, Morrhead won.
