CONGRATS to ALL & Nice to see some top teams getting it done on the rink & in the classroom!!! NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp February 20, 2006&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp The Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association is pleased to announce the Section Team Academic Hockey Champions for the 2005-06 season. The following schools will be recognized as the Section Team Academic Champions at the Ms. Hockey Banquet, Sunday, February 26, 2006 at the River Centre in St. Paul, MN. All players and coaches are invited to attend the luncheon and awards presentation. The Section Academic Champions are: SECT&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp SCHOOL 1A&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp New Prague HS 2A&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Totino-Grace HS 3A&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Crookston HS 4A&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Shakopee HS &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 1AA&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Owatonna HS 2AA&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Roseville HS 3AA&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp White Bear Lake HS 4AA&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Coon Rapids HS 5AA&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Academy of Holy Angels 6AA&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Hopkins HS 7AA&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Cambridge-Isanti HS 8AA&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Buffalo HS Congratulations to all the teams for their outstanding performances in the classroom. The Class “A” & “AA” Champions will be announced at the Ms. Hockey Banquet, Sunday, February 26, 2006. Right on ghshockeyfan. Congratulations to the academic champions! Academic's are high on the list if you want to succeed at the next level or to be successfull in your future endeavors. A famous All American and Olympic hockey player probally stated it best. " Remember, you can't eat your hockey jersey"

Crookston for Class A. White Bear Lake for Class AA.

Can someone tell me why they only use the seniors grades? Isn't it suppose to be a team thing???

They use 9-12 for team. All State Academic (individual) is Sr only with 3.8 cumulative GPA or higher. Reminds me of an interesting situation that I faced with a team with 15 Varsity 8th & 9th graders one year... I didn't have enough eligible kids to get to the minimum 10 needed in grades 9-12 so I had to take zeros on a number of the scores in the total... That was great...
