Re: chemistry
Excellent point. That's something that I had discussed with some too - is that this is everything for SSM/TB, but maybe not the same for those B&A kids... B&A had a big target on their back, and SSM/TB everything to gain! This was a big game for the TB/SSM establishment too as it kind of legitimized their existence/dominance - even if done with the help of the chemistry/continuity that comes with a full season of play together, etc.

When you think about it, it's tough to say, but the MSHSL tourney would mean nothing to a SSM/TB kid and vice versa for the U19 for B&A player in some respects.

Re: chemistry
It is my understanding that the final vote of Minnesota Hockey in regards to B&A had it approved only for one year, this year. The focus is now on development of a Before option similiar to the Boys High School Elite league. At this time 3 options are going to be pitched to Minnesota Hockey at their spring meeting.

Re: chemistry
Good to hear.

I truly hope that there is an emphasis on using the NDP tryout proces already in place to determine initial eligiblity for such an option, as well as more than just a couple teams total, and tiers for both the 16 & 19 level - with a DEVELOPMENT component, not just another talent showcasing league/tourney/festival/event.

Teams can still be put together for VT, UND, and Steven's Point tourneys as have typically been done (& these can be scheduled around), but I woudl think the goal needs to be making the B&A GEL (Before & After Girls Elite League) the main attraction Fall and Spring. Summer AAA is a whole different story... and equally concerning phenomenon...

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ckeyfan at: 3/23/06 10:53 am

Re: chemistry
I believe approval was for 3 years, not 1.

Re: chemistry
I think I read a part of the MN H minutes recently and they initially passed a bunch of B&A stuff as a huge package in one vote, but then went back and changed some things including a provision about the duration of this agreement. In that language I believe it said that "until which time an Elite League starts" or something liek that, which, if an elite league starts (as they're hearing the 3 proposals on) it would throw out the current B&A agreement?

.
.
.

Let me see if I can find that info... I'm sure it's on the MN Hockey site...
