I want to share a story that shows his spirit to singing the national anthem. 2 years ago at a Kennedy Girls game, three of the players from Kennedy sang the national anthem instead of him. All of this was pre-arranged with the athletic director who said he would call Michael and let him know not to show up that night. He had explained to him that this would be the only night of the year he would not sing. Michael was very upset about this. I ran into him a couple weeks later, and he told me that he was upset at the time, but understood why the girls sang that night. I refer to him as Michael, as that is how he was introduced when sining the National Anthem. He was a great man, my thoughts and prayers are with him.
