Re: lesterberg
Seems that a great recruiting class was put together this year, and that coupled with the team's strong finish could have really helped the program take off to levels not achieved before.

Re: lesterberg
This is an example that players have the power at the college level just as parents have it at the HS level.

Re: lesterberg
I've seen some of these player revolts first hand at the college level, and players (like HS parents) have too much say sometimes - especialy when both entities aren't using impartial unbiased approaches to understanding & interpreting facts.

I've seen situaitons as foolish as where players will try to remove a coach if they aren't excited about the recruits that a coach is bringing in if they pose a great challenge to retruning players' positions!!! Now THAT makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?!?!?

There are times however when situations do truly justify intervention.

Re: lesterberg
ghs you have been adament in premoting the need for all the great HS girls playing on super teams . Do you think maybe you are part of the problem by promoting this thought to the girls and there parants.

norconBOY-

Please take the time to read the post on this thread and then maybe you won't ask a stupid question!

Re: Dumb question
Why don't they just promote Giesen? He's been around the college game for some time now, the SCSU players and recruits like/respect him and he deserves a head coaching job.

Re: Dumb question
I think he applied for the job, its just a matter if he gets it or not and they woudl still have to find another assistant

Re: Giesen
Not sure if he would have much say IF he gets the job, but I know he has a short list of people he would/could bring in.

Re: Giesen
I think he would be a good choice.

I will say though that typically when you let a head coach go, it's not unusual to clean house and let the new head bring in a whole new staff as desired.

BUT - in this case I believe that there are coaches still under contract (one to be specific). In that case, that coach would either have to be bought out, or kept on obviously in either the current assitant capacity OR get the head job...
