2006 U19 Meltdown

Post by Metrolink »

I've seen a senior loaded roster for the Ice Cats U19 team in the Meltdown - does anyone know what juniors will be playing in that tourney? It should be a good test for many of the juniors to play against a team like that!

Not a bad team. How would they fare against an average D1 team? Probably less experienced, but just as talented...

Brings back memories of the old "Team MN Elite" groups...

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ckeyfan at: 4/17/06 3:36 pm

Definitely loaded with talent. But isn't this basically the same team that SSM handled relatively easily last month?

I would agree, but now some of the SSM are with vs. against?

ALso, I think we've debated the fact that the Rapids was just as if not more talented, but the SSM had the synergy of a full season together vs. parts of a few weeks at best pre & post.

Speaking of the Rapids...I have been around some debate over whether putting together an after season hs team is really fair. Now this could be just because I heard it from a jealous T'bred player, I think she felt a little threatened but was not happy when the Rapids showed up in their playoffs. Just that they hadn't been a team all year and now they are potentially threatening a regular season team's shot at nationals. I personally think it would be a great honor to be on this Rapids team, but is she justified in saying it really isnt fair?

An argument could be made that many things aren't fair. Like that some don't ahve the $ to play TB, or that some left their hometown to play TB, etc. I'm not shocked to hear this. I'd be curious to see what is said as far as the future of B&A hockey however, and I assume that some of this was recently decided...
