Okay, so which one should it be?
As has been previously noted in this forum, there are 2 excellant opportunities available for '91 girls. Trouble is, they're both the same week, the last week of June.

The Minnesota Hockey Advanced 15 Summer Development Camp in Mankato is an invitation-only camp made up of 6 teams; that's 90 skaters, 12 goalies!!! That's a huge number, especially considering they're targeting the top '91's.

That same week, the Freshman/Sophomore Development Camp is taking place at Breezy Point. This is also a great opportunity, put on by the MGHCA and girls have to try out to be invited.

Here's the dilemma; the deadline for submitting for the Mankato camp is May 9th. Tryouts for the Fr./So. camp are ongoing and the results probably won't be mailed out until after May 9th.

So, if your daughter's invited to both, which one's the best choice?

I would choose the Mankato Camp. The advanced 15 camp is put on by some college coaches (MSU Staff) and is supposed to mirror the boys advanced 15 camp.

The coaches camp is run by HS coaches with some former college players as couselors/coaches.

From what I heard last year the HS camp was good, but not great. I also heard that it was not a true reflection of the "best" players.

Tough choice. Good luck.

I would go with the camp that is closer and more convenient to attend. I wouldn't get to worried about which one to attend. Like any week long camp, neither will have that great of an impact on a player's development.
