Meltdown
IceCats beat the scrapped-together Os Elite team 4-2 in the championship U-19 bracket. Thought it would have been worse, but surprisingly it was a pretty even game. The Os team played much better as a team than the IceCats, whose first line included Thunstrom, Pezon and Lee. It was 3-2 through much of the 3rd period and a very entertaining game to watch. A lot of transition.

Icecats' Hirsch was the tournament MVP, which I found surprising, considering she didn't finish all of the games (penalties). I watched 3 IceCat games and would have picked Thundstrom as MVP, no doubt about it. Thundstrom was the difference in the round robin game vs Os, and she was the difference in the championship game. I liked Hirsch, but she struggles in her own zone when the forecheckers get physical. Maybe that's why she draws a lot of penalties.

In the semis, Os Elite dominated Walser Blue with a 5-0 win and Icecats beat the Storm (not sure of the score). All in all it was a pretty good showing for McCready's Os team, a bunch of kids he put together late for this tournament.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... Re: Meltdown Results
Icecats U19 beat the East Side Eagles in semis 4-1. Eagles beat Walser Blue 2-0 in third place game. Icecats beat OS in championship. Note: I think McCready coached the Lightning; not OS. Interesting ending to Eagles - Lightning game. Score tied 3-3 late in 3rd period. Lightning pulls their goalie and Eagles score 1 sec before the horn goes off to win the game.

meltdown
Anyone know the U16 results? Couldn't make the last day!

Re: meltdown
Perhaps the Lightning really needed a win because of the tie-breakers, I don't know that but it could be the reason. The other pool ended up with a three way tie for second and tiebreakers decided who 2-4th.

U16 results
Championship game Manitoba Minor defeated Manitoba Major

Third place game The PINK PANTHERS beat the MN EXTREME 4-1. That pink team looks like fun. Those kids and coaches seem to really enjoy the game.

Re: meltdown
I watched the end of the U16 3rd place game....where are the Pink Panthers from?

Were the the Icecats/Extreme competivie with the Manitoba teams?

Re: meltdown
I don't know for sure, but someone said the pink panthers are from Stillwater. However I did recognize some of the players that are from elsewhere. I saw Taylor Jenkins who I think is from somwhere in southern MN, Rachel Ripley Farmington, Emma Nordness Benilde, those three played together and really created alot.
I think most of the teams competed well with Manitoba. I know the extreme tied one of the teams.
