St. Thomas Recruits

Post by maroonhockey »

Add one more for St. Thomas. Jillian Kobow, forward for Coon Rapids has committed to St. Thomas! She had an opportunity to play D1 outstate, but decied to stay closer to home, which may be a good choice, based upon the latest posts regarding girls leaving D1's to come back home! It looks like St. Thomas had a very good recruiting year, and I hear they are waiting to hear from one more forward.

Congrats to Jill!

I believe UST loses some of their tops players as well. This means some of these HS recruits can play right away. That hasn't always been the case. Gorg always seems to get 7,8,9 quality recruits each year. Wonder how long he'll remain at UST?

I had heard that FSN wanted to bring him on board fulltime for next season. It should be very interesting to see if he bites.

Also, two players from Sibley plan to attend STC : Emily Haedrich (top scorer), and Jessica Cascalenda (very steady defender).

If St Thomas always get 7-8-9- quality recruits each year, then let me ask this, how many final fours has St Thomas been to? At some point one has to question the coaching of Gorg and his assts....

Go Cardinals!

At some point every coach is going to be "looked at." Should Carroll will be looked at if he continues to make it to the NCAA's and goes 0-2. No, but he will be. Gorg does a fine job at UST. As for his assistants... he's got enough for nearly every player.

ok then, let's agree that Gorg does a fine job. I guess "fine" will
get ya in the TV booth, and a consistent non NCAA Tourney post season. I am only reactinig to the comments about all the great recruits he gets and never has gotten to the big dance.

I have no idea to how he compares to most of the other coaches in the MIAC. Maybe he is just Fine.

I know the coaches well at St Mary's, so that is the only coaching I can compare St Thomas to.

Go Cardinals!
