Got a lot of free time here before summer and bicycling season start in earnest. Has anybody built websites using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)? Any good tutorials out there on the WWW?

Basically, I'm tearing down minnhock.com and rebuilding the thing from scratch. I'm doing away with a framed site and trying to do something more in keeping with the 21st Century. I think that CSS may be the way to go along the lines of having as uniform a site as possible.

Email me if you want or post here. At some point I'll be posting links to some examples and gathering feedback in an attempt to see what people like, what they think reeks, etc.

Lee
____________
Message Board arsonist since 2005
Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ockey>east hockey at: 4/1/05 10:41 pm

I don't really know what you are talking about. An example would be nice so I could give you some feed back. Thanks Lee!
AHA 2002 & 2005 State Champions!

Re: Attn: Web building nerds
I haven't done my first CSS page yet. I did some research on the Net this morning and found a couple of sites that have some examples and bought the book on CSS Web Sites for Dummies tonight at our local B&N store.

I'll be posting some rough templates as I get into studying and experimenting. I'll be soliciting feedback from visitors on which layouts, color schemes and content they prefer to see. What I want to do, basically, is to give minnhock.com a more professional look and feel, make navigation easier, and get away from having a frames-based site.

Lee
____________
Message Board arsonist since 2005
Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ockey>east hockey at: 4/4/05 8:55 am

Just a Suggestion
I know nothing about websites but here is a suggestion for the new one....you could put small logo's of each team in the state on the border of the main page. Just an idea.

I have worked with CSS before, not to extensively, but I have. I don't remember much off the top of my head, but I know it's not that hard. I didn't have much trouble with it, but you may be different. Anyways, that's my input.

Much Love
-Cloquet

Well, I meant that if he had any ?'s he could ask and I could look back at my pages and figure them out. Sorry I was a little tired this morning, wasn't really specific huh? Sorry guys. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":(">

Much Love
-Cloquet

I've been doing some studying and CSS isn't difficult at all. No specific questions at this time, I'm looking at how I want to set the main page up, what I want to include, etc. Tough trying to think today because of this damn bug I caught from some idiot co-worker who'd rather come to work than stay home and not infect the people she works with.
