Ok everyone, my roommate and I have this little debate going on...Pop or "soda". Gray duck or "goose". Let's settle this thing. I have never seen a 'grey' duck, but have seen plenty of gray ducks. Nor have I seen a goose duck. But have known plenty of geese that wish they would have ducked. Soda??? Is that not the thing you add to scotch?

I think you can tell the approximate age of people with this one. In todays "politically correct" society, It's no longer okay to refer to a "color" ie: Gray duck<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes"> . Thats where "goose" came into the picture. I dont know if its age or regional. What I do know is that I never heard 'goose' until I was watching Regis' show 'Millionaire' a couple of years ago. If you never watched the show, theyd start out with like a 100$ question that was a no brainer and move up to a million. Anyway, there was a 100$ question that asked the contestant to finish the phrase "duck, duck...." and then there were 4 choices (A,B,C or D) NONE of them were 'gray duck'. One was 'goose' and the guy got it and they moved on. I couldnt believe it. Age had nothing to do with it. I think the only place were gray duck is used is in Minnesota and only in certain parts. Soda/pop is absolutely regional. You can walk into a store out East and ask a 60 year old guy where the pop is and he'll look at you like...... you're from Minnesota. Its Soda in most parts of the country.

The reason I say age, is because I grew up with Gray Duck and guess what my kids played in school? You guessed it, GOOSE. Go down south and ask for "Mayo" on your next sub sandwich. They will not know what your asking for....

I play duck, duck, goose. But I do remember playing with colors, where every time you tapped a person on the head they'd be a different color (purple goose, red goose, blue goose...) until you final got to goose. And it's pop. Much Love -Cloquet
