All sports state for high school?

Post by LHSeagles21 »

For all high school sports should there be a state tournament for 9th-Varsity? Well my opinion is that I think they should have state for 9 and B squad. It just isn't as fun of a season if you don't play for anything especially when your a good team. They don't have to be played at these top notch arena's, fields or w/e they play on just the fact that it's state.

Disagree. State is special and should be only for Varsity. They have the regions or whatever for most 9th grade sports and that works just fine. But I think State should be reserved only for the highest level.

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

The kids playing below the varsity level should be focusing on improving their game so they may play for the varsity squad. Then they can have their shot at state and etc.

The Puck – aka: The self-proclaimed People’s Champion

i think B squad should have a state tournament atleast. They play all these games and it means absolutly nothing. You want the kids to have fun winning something

Doesn't mean nothing... you are playing and developing and working your way up. Doesn't that mean anything? State is State, nothing less and nothing less should have State.

Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

The iron range conf. used to have a JV tourney in Grand Rapids on the Monday after the reg. season every year. The numbers just aren't there for most of the range schools anymore.

i agree that a state tournament should be reserved for a varsity sport....a state title is the epitome of a highschool sports career

And lower levels ARE working for something: a name for themselves
