The difference between Moorhead and Roseau, is that Roseau just wants to MAKE it to state, and Moorhead just wants to WIN state. Roseau won't be going for 3 years or so...

Mr. Hockeygod and slapshooter: Have some respect and tone it down a bit. From a historical perspective, many would consider Roseau to be the best high school hockey team in Minnesota. To speak poorly of them, reflects poorly on you. This tiny town has been a hockey powerhouse since 1945. In recent years Moorhead has been great. Some key players were offspring of Roseau natives. (I believe some of Moorhead's youth hockey coaches are Roseau natives, as well. Roseau has "spread the wealth.") Yes, Roseau hasn't won the state tournament since 1999. (They picked up a consolation championship in 2000 and lost the sectional championship to Moorhead in a fluke in 2001--Roseau was the better team that year.) Now, after a 5-year drought--a long time for such a high-quality hockey program--Roseau looks like a state contender for the foreseeable future. Good for them! I think it is great for section 8AA and great for Minnesota hockey.

Just got home from Memorial, and the Roseau Tiny Mites looked pretty good in Monday night league. If that's any indication the Spuds are gonna have a quiet trip home.

I think the better post would be, Roseau just wants to make it to state (AND win it all again).......Moorhead wants to make it to state and FINALLY win it..... 3 years? I'm thinking the tide could turn as early as this year. Tomorrow nights game can't come soon enough! Should be a premier game of the season in the state of MN! The other week i was watching the nine o clock sports and they showed all the runner up banners hanging from the rafters in moorhead and the reporter said how impressive it was I had to laugh cause looking at the state tourny stats the boys from the north have something like 29 appearences can't remember how many time they have won but only one other team has won more. so the spuds got a ways to go. In talking with a spuds dad of a player he says that they owe all there sucsess to a former ram. says he built the program that they have. wish we could get a former ram to our town to build a program of these calibers. Why isn't fsn carrying this game. should be one for the ages. I have some good friends in ram country so I gotta go with the rams. But good luck to both teams, nothin better than high school hockey!

Scott Oliver's crew will take the Spuds to the woodshed and there ain't a thing Slapshooter (5th liner), Morinville and Christian can do about it. Ross Forte will be in attendance to watch 2 northern traditions collide. This will be the best game bar none that AA will have to offer (minus the clutch and grab, hook and hold). Slapshooter, bluesbuddy, east hockey, the shady bunch, BIAFP, Mike Randolph will all be in attendance to educate the cidiots (not all you fine posters) on the finer points of puck playing. Catch this tilt to get a schooling on hockey 101.

Before his demise on this board, the man behind the curtain said hiz only goal was to bring respect to northwestern minnesota ... whether it be roseau, warroad, moorhead, thief river, or east grand forks. Hiz puppeteering techniques were of good intent and the menagerie of characters were to bring the section 8A and 8AA fans together and cheer on whoever represented the great northwest in their quests for state championships in the year 2005. That included roseau. When all was said and done, he was to give out a degree to the scarecrow {slappathiah}, a ceramic heart to the tin man {bluesbuddy}, a badge of courage to the lion {warroad} and to send dorothy {moorhead} home to a ticker tape parade. this house of cards came crashing down when the angels {holy angels academy} from on high swooped down and derailed the mighty train full of tater tots thus creating jihad which eventually wiped out half the shady bunch. slappy and his gang are teetering in the ring ... spinning aimlessly just before the great aries delivers the fatal blow. Aries has one shot. If they miss and only nick slappathiah he will continue to spin and escape to the bowels of the earth and hide out with bluesbuddies surviving next of kin {hiz puppy poopie, and pet turtle, godzilla} until he hears from the One on most high.
