its dumb to debate the traditions of the two... both have solid traditions... although Roseau is having a hard time being consistent and maintaining... and these people that keep ripping Moorhead for never winning a title... thats embarrassing... Moorhead is to good of a program they are going to win their share, I am not even worried about it... I watched one of the greatest coaches in sports at one of the most tradition rich universities in the country go 21 years without a championship and he took a lot of criticism along the way... he ended his career by winning 3 of 4 titles... (Tom Osborne-Nebraska)... Moorhead will break the ice with one soon and the flood will start... I dont think its this year but they will get there.. Roseau wins tomorrow night.. Moorhead wins in St. Cloud... mark it down the Spuds will be at the X again...

I don't know who told you it was a ram that got the Moorhead program jump started. Is the Virginia mascot a ram? Kudos to the tradition of Roseau, but if you don't think that Moorhead has done enough to carry on a debate between the two teams think again. Respect for Roseau is prevalent in Moorhead but we do not feel the need to bow down b/c they were on the hockey map first. It will all be settled on the ice until the next game!

Well, that was all fun reading to get to this point. No doubt about it Roseau is much better than previous years and Moorhead is "down" a bit from previous years. But what a luxury it is to be considered "down" or overrated when you only have 3 losses, all to quality opponents, all by only 1 goal, all while having key players out due to injuries. As was said before, that is a testament to the Moorhead program. Notice I have not said anything negative about Roseau here. Anyway, should be a great game tonight, wish I could be there. Don't let that fool ya. The building blocks for the moorhead program never came from outside of section 8. I don't care where you heard what but there were a lot of key people involved in the beginnings of this new dynasty besides the one that came from bronco town. I will tell you this though ... Roseau's influence on the success of the Moorhead program goes much deeper than any other city in the state. However, that being said ... Mr. C's impact was big and his contributions should never go unnoticed. After all, one of his pitstops prior to coming back to Moorhead was at Roseau. I can tell you that lots of Roseau players/people settled in the FM area after attending college there. Subsequent generations of these Rams had many lambs and blended with an existing flock including Slappy's hams, to create a team that really jams. Yes, Virginia, Minnesota. Know where it's at, been there a time or two or more. And Mr. C. coached there, too. But Mr. C. was bred, born and raised in that rich in hockey tradition town of IF, THE Falls, tFalls, Home of the Bronocs. Class of 1969. A year after the famous #15 graduated. Am, I still behind? Hallock,, Eveleth, Roseau, Interantional Falls, and St. Paul the home of hockey in Minnesota. Then came those other places like Warroad, Thief River Falls, Hibbing, Grand Rapids, Minneapolis and Edina. And then came those other ones like Bloomington, Moorhead, Duluth East and Bemidji (oops, how did that get in there).
