Wisconsin had Blake Elliott, nobody in college hockey had anybody of his caliber playing betwen the pipes, that's why Wisconsin won the National title. Remember they were ranked #1 all year up until Elliott got hurt, is Wisconsin the new state of hockey? ( a marketing term made up by the Wild by the way, to go against the Red Wings Hockeytown) No, but as long as they have Blake Elliott they're going to be the a tough beat in college hockey. You can't win if can'tscore and nobody scored much on him, I bet Ottawa is licking their chops waiting for him. Anyone old enough to remember when Harvard beat the Goophs at the Civic Center for the National title will remember the bias that goes against Minnesota hockey. Sports Illustrated called Minnesota arrogent after the loss, was Barry Melrose any different?

Right as rain SS. It appears that the AA supremacists and the Minnesota supremacists are rampant here on the bored. It isnt about where the kids come from but what State has all the trophies right now.....and that would be Wisconsin. Who is Blake Elliot??? Do you mean Chris Elliott. Robbie Earl is good, but Pavelski had 13 more points them him on the year including a hat trick against Bemidji in the first round and I believe two assists in the championship game. Home grown 'Scony boy from Plover and won a state championship with St. Point in High School. In the Cornel game Earl was kinda a non factor in the second over time on, he was all cramped up and would get on the ice for like 10 seconds then crawl to the bench.

I have to say the Goofers were pretty arrogant when they won the WCHA regular Season title...they picked it up and put it back down right away and said "This isn't the trophy we want." Well it's the only one they got this year.

I'm the furthest thing from a double A supremecist, Slappy. Think about who you're talking about, Class A hockey himself. I went to a Class A school and a Class A state tourney. first off why are we arguing with such a leftwing nut case? i knew that wisconsin housed a few crazies but never any that would accually compare minnesota hockey to wisconsin. why even take him seriously when you can just look at the name deffintion according to urbandictionary.com 1.. cheddarhead some one from Wisconsin 2. cheddarhead an extremely stupid person; one who has cheese rather than grey matter in his head. and 69.. you get the point, yea name says it all. lol and if you still want to drag this on, just pick our best 20 in the state and give those "neighbors" to the east. 20 more good reasons on why those guys would dominate them. then let the "cheddarhead" pick his favorite 20 and give 20 reasons on the blowout loss they would have suffered. If you can set up this "fantasy" game go ahead my friend. Until that I will take the 14 we have on the Cardinal and white roster and win a National Championship with them, ohh they already did that. I think I have said it before Minnesota high school hockey is better then Wisconsin right now, but the gap has closed over the last 10 years and will continue to close. Ten years ago it was lucky to find 14 Wisconsin players playing D-1 hockey at all, now there are 14 on one team and bringing home a National Championship...so I will stick by the idea the the gap is closing.

Yeah, sorry about that Slapshooter. Don't mean to down play Earl so much, that was a very admirable play on his part, just some people make him sound like he is our team. He is a lot of fun to watch and has some amazing moves...maybe at times tries too many IMO. He pulled out some magic tricks when we played Ohio State in Lambeau.
