Opinion......Goal Scorer, playmaker or Both
Would like to hear opinions on what coaches look for in players, is it the goal scorer, playmaker (assists) or one that can have equal amount of goals and assists........

it all depends on the coaches stragety. if the coach is defensive then he may go with more playmakers because they are usually the one who help most in the d-zone because they dont only care about scoring
if the coach wants to score a ton of goals then you would have to take goal scorers because they can put the puck in the net. of course no matter what you would want some of each
i also think a coach looks for grinders. the kids who go in the corners and dont come out until they have the puck. what are your thoughts guys?

I'd personally get a guy that had a goal scoring touch along with a playmaking ability also, so they could either score themselves or be able to set up other teammates in a position that they can score.

I'd personally take a guy who had a goal scoring ability, but also is a playmaker at the same time. So, than he he can either score himself or he can set up other teammates that are in a scoring position.
