Whoever said Greenway's goalie, I heard that he was good, but we played them and he let in 7. Most of them were good goals, but one or two were more of routine saves.

So majority seems to agree Mcmahon and Mike Lee are at the top...what makes them so dominant? I'm not saying they aren't, i've just never seen them play... like what qualities got them there. don't just list shot statistics please

Mike Lee- Very solid. Stop's all first shots. Only issue is when he gets scored on once he gets down. Very good with the puck as well. Look for him to carry his team through regionals.

Mcmahon-Keeps his team in many games. Orono would not be even close to the same team without him. Likes to play the puck alot and doesnt get beat too often on breakaways. His only issue is he is playing with a very very average defence that doesn't help him very much.

Defense

Post by MNLIGHT39 »

Ginos,

Orono's D isnt that bad. Although, there are a few kids back on D that for sure wouldnt be playing A hockey at other associations. But,what can you expect when you have 30 kids tryout. Top two D in Tommy Fisk and Hayden Hanson are pretty solid. And they have some young talent back on D. I will give you that they are an average defense all put together, but the forwards more than make up for it.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... If a majority puts only McMahon & Lee at the top, then they have not properly included Owen Collette (WBL). Also, McMahon should stop criticizing his own D on these boards. It will come back to haunt him.

Saying they are average all put together isnt in any way criticizing them.

Does that mean that "all put together" the Orono goalies are average too?

Does n't seem like you were giving your D too much love when you said this:

"Ginos,

Orono's D isnt that bad. Not one thing in there even remotely states me saying they are "bad". I said a couple of them are average and may not be playing A hockey in big associations. But honestly, a team that has 30 kids trying out for it is going to have that issue. There is no mystery there. It's not like I am unvailing some huge secret. There a 2 very good D. One very good first year D that you would never expect to be a first year and a few more that are just average players. It's all good. Thats not in any way critizing them. I can name NUMEROUS teams that have very average players back on D after their first two or three. (ex.Centennial,Moorhead,Roseau,WBL,Maple Grove,Hopkins-one good D,the list goes on forever) You boys need to take easy, its all good.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... it's actually the opposire for me i started a forward got switched to D and played D for 6 years. Then i got switched to forward at my first year of bantam As. So for us we have a few that have never even played A in their life.

Yah. 90% of the teams out there have that same problem. The emphasis as young kids is to be a forward, so a good majority of the strong skaters and goal scores naturally start playing forward at a young age while the bottom kids play defense. There is always those rare very good offensive defensemen or a forward that was switched to D later in his career, but some teams are lucky to have one of them. It's sad but true. So, when bantams roll around teams will have only 2-4 solid defenseman, while you have 2-3 that really struggle at the A level, or are just very average defensemen. Most bigger associations that feild 4 to 5 or more teams at the bantam level are an exception to this, although many are not.

Orono

I dont think that Oronos goalies are good at all. EP played them and beat them 5-1. EP doesnt score that often and you cant bame the D for most of the goals in that game. I say leave the D out of it and get mad at the mediocre goalie.
