Goalies

Post by hockeyhelp30 »

The kid from Lakeville South (although I think it will change when he moves up, too many rebounds).

The Ford kid from EP. When you see the best shots every day in practice you will become much better. He is a stud right now and the reason why this team will win state.

The LaPrade kid from Chaska is making a name for himself after the way that he played last week in the tourny. He made 44 of 48 saves against Edina. He is the only reason it was close.

Too many rebounds?? Come on give me a break. Just sounds like sour grapes to me. He gives up no more rebounds than any of the other top goalies in Peewees. I dont know the kid at all, but just by watching him the kid is the read deal.

Would take the Lakeville goaltender over the EP goalie. Seen them both play, EP has a strong team as does Lakeville.

As far as better shots from EP players cmon, are you saying they have the best shooters in the state.

He is good

Post by hockeyhelp30 »

Don't get me wrong the kid is great, but he is great becasue of his size. There comes a point when you can't rely on the size any more and that comes in the next 2 years when kids develop shots and learn to find holes. He may get even better which is nuts. I have seen him play 3 times and I know he is a great goalie! That is why he is at the top of my list.

DE Goalie

Post by Duluthhockeyfan »

Well you have to give the Perlinger kid from DE some consideration on this topic. He did hold the #1 BANTAM A team (Edina) scoreless for two plus periods. Only giving up 2 goals in the game. That is pretty impressive! Most Bantam goalies haven't held Edina to that low of a score!

Thats right, he is the Peewee goalie who played for the bantam team for a weekend against the best bantam team in the state!

not sure if that is legal Duluthfan- sounds like they played with a non -rostered player, especially if this was after dec 31

Goalies

Post by BauerHoc77 »

I would take Ford (Ep) over McNeely (Lakeville S.)... Don't get me wrong, but both are the top 1 and 2 goalies in the state! I just think Ford is a bit better... Those would be my two goalies for a PWA Dream Team.

DE Goalie

Post by buddy »

If the Duluth East PeeWee goalie played for a bantam team it would definately be in violation of MN Hockey rules and he and/or the teams he played for could certainly be sanctioned.

Best Peewee A Goalies

Saw #1 in the net from Stillwater on Sunday. They beat Mahtomedi bad. The goalie was solid.

The Girard goalie from Edina is a solid goaltender.

Yeah Girard is pretty good been pretty solid for Edina in the pipes same with there other goalie to. Another solid goalie is Ford he's kept them from losing quite a few games.

i agree with duluth hockey fan joel perlinger played with the eat pbantam A and shut edina out for 2 periods and only gave them 2 goals in the whole game. i dont think that any goalie in bantam As has s=done that yet if soemone has it was like 2 goalies

perlinger

Post by quantummekanic »

holding Edina Bantam A to 2 goals is fine, but what about the times he's given up 4-5 goals to some unranked PW teams? I've seen him play. Very good, but I'd still take McNeely and Ford first.

I don't think that Ford has had any bad games. EP never had more then 3 goals scored agains them and that only happened like 5 out of there 40 some games. That's consistancy

WEll the point is, stick Ford in net against Edina Bantam A's and see if he shut's them down to only 2 goals or less.
- The JaG -

One Game

Post by hockeyhelp30 »

The kid may be good but you can't base your opinion of a goalie on one game that he played not matter what he did. Sure a goalie could step up a level and have one game. You still need consistancy. After all, the sun shines on a dogs... every now and then!
