It is because Maple Grove got beat by a hot Osseo team and Hopkins in districts, also the Maroon Red Region was stacked so not all the top 10 teams made it, and 3 teams from the north go every year not just this year. <p>- The JaG -</p><i></i>

You replace Blaine with White Bear Lake and it looks like the State tournament has the last 4 or 5 years. Maybe add Wayzata in there too some where. I think it is hilarious with all the talk of how good Orono, Hopkins, Maple Grove, Osseo, and whoever else was supposed to be so great this year, it is still the teams that get it done year in and year out. You can say what you want about the north getting three teams and how stacked that Red region was, but the fact is any of those three northern teams can beat any of the teams in the tournament. Should be a great tournament... The matchups are very interesting. I think in 3 of the 4 games with the exception of the Edina/Owatonna game, that the teams facing off have potential matchup problems with each other. Don't be surprised to see an "upset" or two. Although with the caliber of teams at the tournament it may be hard to call any game an upset. <p></p><i></i>
