Yes, we smoked them. Score:
WBL- 7
Orono- 1

Best goalie in the state my butt... 7 goals in 37 shots. Orono had nothing the entire game.
<img src="http://www.wblhockey.com/images/toc/toc ...

Orono vs. White Bear
I wouldnt say all that, the goals were all rebounds and bangaway goals. He almost always made the first save its just white bear dominated tonight. The game got REAL physical and dirty and the refs were pretty bad. But regardless, white bear dominated and they obviously smoked em......good team.

Re: Orono vs. White Bear
6 of 7 were PP goals as well.

--When the going gets tough, the tough get going--

Re: WBL vs. Orono
I thought someone said about 10 of the Orono bantams could have been on the varsity team? How come with all of that "Varsity Talent" they couldnt make it to state in bantams?

Re: WBL vs. Orono
Their varsity team made it to state too.

Re: WBL vs. Orono
all the goals were off rebounds? sure. there was a goal scored on a break from the blue line (upper glove), and a slapshot from the point that went right over McMahon's head when he was going down. it doesnt even matter if 4 or 5 goals were on the power play, they were goals and thats all that counts right?

Re: WBL vs. Orono
I saw the game through half-way of the second but i had to go play my own game. WBL was outplaying them by a long shot. Very physical game. Orono didnt look like a top 7 or 8 team though.

Re: WBL vs. Orono
yeah orno looked like they didnt know what hit them, they got spanked up and down the ice. Some of their goals could of been stopped, but when your only producing 1 goal dont expect to win to often. Mchamon (serious help on spelling) to me is very overated.

Re: WBL vs. Orono
Agreed. Im pretty convinced Collette is most likely the best goalie in the state, or hes way way up there

Re: WBL vs. Orono
I was impressed by Collete, i was impressed by Putney, and I was impressed by the entire WBL team. I guess i was expecting more from orono. They couldnt seem to get any offense rolling or stay out of the box. But lets give orono some credit for the great season. They had a good year so congrats for that.

PS: that #10 for WBL is a tough one. he didnt have much size but he wasnt scared one bit to go in those corners.

Collette is a very good goalie but in my opinion Mike Lee is the best goalie in the state.

Re: WBL vs. Orono
O i know mngopher8-#10 was a beast. Not tall at all, but he was solid as a rock. I saw him hit some kids harder than i have seen anyone hit all year. And the only time he went down was when he was hooked or tripped to the ice. Wasnt scared at all to go into corners wit the big guys. He probly enjoyed goin into the corners with them cause he knew he would knock them over!!

Isn't he a first year?

Re: WBL vs. Orono
tony villeneauve is not a first year

Re: WBL vs. Orono
The only 1st year on the team is #6 Matt Pasma.

Re: WBL vs. Orono
1st game:
43 shots against, 1 goal against, 1 win

2nd game:
37 shots against, 7 goals against, 1 loss

Totals:
80 shots against, 8 goals against. 1-1 record and 90% against the #2 team in the state. I'll take it any day.

--When the going gets tough, the tough get going--

Re: WBL vs. Orono
good point mnlight. but you guys lost when it mattered most. loosing by 6 when your seasons on the line is pathetic

Re: WBL vs. Orono
Orono won D3 but played inconsistantly at times and I think they fell victim to being the favorite...being the favorite only puts a target on your back and you get everyone's best game...

Re: WBL vs. Orono
I must have missed something. Do you think Orono was favored in this game?

Re: WBL vs. Orono
Orono had a very good year, but got the butts kicked by WBL. I'm a big Orono fan, but it was that simple. No excuses. It's absurd that WBL isn't going to state. Absurd.

Re: WBL vs. Orono
Why is it absurd taht WBL is not going to state. They did not win when it mattered.

Re: WBL vs. Orono
Because, like Orono, Osseo and Jefferson, they are better than 4 teams that made it.

White Bear
I agree its absurd that WHite Bear didnt make it. THe tourney is not going to be as compettative and fun to watch without them there.
