Eden Prairie Peewee "A" State Champs!

Post by Hobey Baker »

Just wondering where everyone thinks this years Eden Prairie Peewee A squad would rank all time amongust the best teams ever?

They had a incrediable record of 53-2-0. They won all five tournaments they were in. First test of the best EP Tournament, Edina Invitational, Daha Invitational, Moose Coheen and the State Tournament.

They would have to be #1. The whole year I watched them in LPH and every week they were ranked #1. That means every team that came to play them, made it their biggest game of the season. E.P. had to get up for 55 games, unreal! My hat goes off to every player & coach. This team is not only made up of a bunch of team players but winners too! It will be fun to watch some of these players progress in the future. If I was a college coach I would be keeping a close eye on this talented group.

best team ever?

Post by grizisastud »

I would say EP wasn't the best team ever. The 2000 Edina DOMINATED every game. Hagemo (playing for the gophers) was hands down the best player in pee wee's that year and one of the best pee wee players of all time. What was EP's record? I know Edina 2004 was like 56-3 and I think Edina 2000 was better then that but i'm not sure, dumpandchase probably knows, except he's getitng pretty old, maybe the memory is goin away.`

I said best team not 2 or 3 players who have turned out to be good. E.P. was 53-2 with 1 of those losses being a game where 2 of the 3 goals did not go in the net.

Highly doubt Ford as being the best Peewee A goalie ever. It's not that hard to look amazing with a team like his in front of him. He still makes nice saves but lets in weak ones occasinally.

Uhh... I don't remember Ford giving up any "weak" goals this year. I also don't think he had a "bad" game this season either. I would agree w/ egoalie33 on this one.

Yes the 2000 Edina team was very good. 3 losses, very deep team with great top end talent. 5 players playing or going to division 1. 2 players in division 3. 14 players played high school hockey, not all at edina unfortunatly.

The 2004 team wasn't to shabby either. Another deep team with top end the likes of Budish, Everson, Gaarder, Lee, Baker, Regan and Hylok.

Don't leave out the 99' WBL team, they were very good.

The big difference in those teams and this years EP team is that those teams had more competition. There were 8 to 10 great teams in those years, where there were only 3 or 4 great teams this year. Take nothing away from EP, they had a great year and a great team, congrats on the championship.
