One is all you need if you put it where the goalie isn't. Evidently they couldn't.BSUBeaver wrote:I was there and even though Moorhead put up a lot of shots, nothing really stood out to me as "Wow, what a save". They were all pretty generic shots that Randazzo was able to control his rebounds on. And when a rebound was given up, it seemed like Alex had things packed in pretty good to clear it out. So there were a lot of one and done.SPUDNUT wrote:Watch out people - here come the Sheep !
Lost their first 3 just to get us all feelin' cocky Now they win 5 straight & pull off back-to-back upsets by same identical score. I think they picked up a couple ringers in the off-season & have been sandbaggin'.
Also slipping - Taters tied Alex tonite (thanx to the Alex goalie). Last I heard shots were 39-11.

Bemidji: 4 St. Cloud: 2
Very good and tight game throughout. I know this St. Cloud team doesn't have themselves a section win, or really a quality win but they looked very fast and explosive. It was a pretty close game until St. Cloud hit about a 7 minute lull in the third where they just couldn't get anything going. Outside of that however I would say that they played with the Jacks, maybe even out played them at times. However Elliot might have a different take on it.
Having watched St. Cloud multiple times this season they're a pretty streaky team. When they're on, they're on. But when they're off, they look lost. I think that they're capable of pulling an upset in sections if a team takes them lightly and if they're on their game. Who knows, maybe it's just the homer in me.

That's the way it went.CornerBar wrote:Bemidji: 4 St. Cloud: 2

8AA playoffs should be a doozy.

Brainerd 2 - Bemidji 1, OT
No, no, no.
Bemidji 6 - 5 in their 3 games with Brainerd, surely they will get the second seed.
Looks like Moorhead is rolling.
1 Moorhead
2 St Mikes
3 Roseau
4 Brainerd
5 Bemidji
6 Buffalo
7 St Cloud
8 Rogers
Still some 8AA head to head games that throw this off, but from where I sit, it does not matter much as Moorhead will be at the X.

You never know Elliott, Bemidji could knock off Moorhead in the second round of the playoffselliott70 wrote:Still some 8AA head to head games that throw this off, but from where I sit, it does not matter much as Moorhead will be at the X.

Pretty sure its Moorhead's year.Syd Barrett wrote:You never know Elliott, Bemidji could knock off Moorhead in the second round of the playoffselliott70 wrote:Still some 8AA head to head games that throw this off, but from where I sit, it does not matter much as Moorhead will be at the X.The Wizard of Aus has never won a sectional playoff game since he's been exiled to Brainerd
And they would surprise some of the BIG shots.
But I would not be bothered if it turned out to be Buffalo, Brainerd, or St Mikes.
Would be real happy with Roseau or Bemidji.
Nothing against Moorhead, but like the Bemidji student body cheered at the X the last two years,
"We hate Moorhead!"

The new Mississippi River Conferencealcloseshaver wrote:To many Mississippi 8 games. At some point in the not to distant future STMA will be to big for the M8 and will be exiting the conference. Not sure where they would go? NW Sub at 14, Lake??
Bemidji, Grand Rapids, Brainerd, St Cloud, St Mikes, Elk River....
after that the river becomes too polluted to allow any one else.
(maybe Rogers... so Bemidji could win at least one game a year.)
