Since Warroad beat Thief River Falls 7-1 and Moorhead and Thief River tied, it appears that Warroad should be 6 goals better than the Spuds.

Moorhead was clearly the better team tonight.....with a 5-1 victory.
Moorhead played well, Warroad was sub-par and could not keep up with Moorhead's speed.
Moorhead scored short handed and then killed off a 5-3 for 1:30. At times Moorhead looked like they were on the powerplay when it was 5-5 and during the penalty kill it looked like even strength.
Warroad had a penalty shot that the ref called a goal but later after talking to the goal judge was called off. Forward progress of the puck was stopped. This is what I was told, I was at the opposite end of the ice. Aaron Marvin was not very impressive tonight, I was looking forward to seeing Jordy Christian and Marvin square off at center tonight. Christian has his chances to score but picked up an assist or two tonight.
The game was obviously a sellout, standing room only.
Thats Mr. Potatohead to you!

I was at this game and i thought that Warroad outplayed Moorhead for stretchs in this game. I believe that the game was much closer than the 5 to 1 score. Joe Duncan for Moorhead had one of his better games and held Moorhead in the game especially in the third period when the ice was tilted. Moorhead did however make the most of their opportunities and killed off a key 5 on 3 penalty which was a great sign. They also negated Marvin which was another good sign.
Bootom Line Moorhead got the W when they were probably looking ahead to Tuesday nights round 2 with the Rams from Roseau.
Good luck to the Spuds I won't be able to make the game unfortunatley

I was wondering if any of you spud fans would admit it, thanks "spudsdominate." I agree that warroad outplayed moorhead for parts of the game, but for some reason, warroad cannot come out and play the second period, just like in the Roseau game. Another thing i noticed about warroad was that instead of shooting to score it almost looked like they were floating the puck at the net hoping for a rebound or something, it was wierd. There weren't many hard shots taken for some reason. Duncan played well, i thought vatnsdal played a great game as well, despite the 5 goals, he made quite a few key saves in the beginning to keep the warriors in the game. on a side note, do goal judges now have some official purpose in HS hockey?
