Warroad @ Moorhead 1-20-07

Post by HShockeywatcher »

The Warroad Warriors (11-4-1) play the Moorhead Spuds (12-1-1) on Saturday at 6PM. Last night TRF tied Moorhead, who Warroad lost to away earlier this season. Two years ago these two teams tied and last year Moorhead took it 3-2. What happens this year?

I can see this game being a close one at the MSC. The Spuds are snake bit in the goal scoring department lately. If they keep playing good defense they will be ok.
Spuds 3
Warriors 2

Don't score a lot of goals once again but when playing good defense it doesn't matter. They will still come away with a win.

You mean a wake up call to the Spuds or the fans?

All I'm saying is that no one (probably) outside of TRF would have predicted a win for them or a tie. And it happened. So, I'm guessing based on what happened that Warroad won't just get killed.

Too much team! This does not have the big rivarly intangible that Roseau game had. I will be surprised if it's close.

If Moorhead doesn't win my more than 3, than they've definitely lost their game. Warroad isn't that great of a team.

Lately it seems like Moorhead is slumping and Warroad is showing some more life in their all around play. I don't think this one will be as one-sided as people keep saying and thinking. I wouldn't be suprised IF Warroad puts Moorhead on their heels if Warroad gets up early in this one. But I did say IF!! Either way, i hope this is more interesting than people expect. Good luck to both teams!!

Writin' off the Spuds again....

Post by CitiesSpudsGuy »

Slappy's going to show up soon and have a fit when he reads all you people writin' off the Spuds again.

Just because the Spuds ran into a couple of hot goalies lately doesn't mean they're off their game. Just wait and see, they'll pick it up again soon enough. And these games against hot goalies now will only help them down the road.

Moorhead has more depth on their team. Both teams have top forwards. My prediction, Moorhead by 2.
