Denfeld @ Marshall 2-1-07
The Hilltoppers (12-4-2) will host the Hunters (15-6) on Thursday night. This will be one of the last huge games in 2A play. If Denfeld can pull off the W they may be able to get a #1 seed in 2A play. They will be well rested while Marshall will also be hosting Totino on Tuesday, two days prior.

Boblee is right, Denfeld sure is reeling. They tend to do so around this time every year. A close win for Marshall and there could be a real mess for the top seed in 2A. A big win and they appear to hold the 1 seed. A win by Denfeld pretty much guarentees them the top seed.
That being said...Marshall 6-3.

I agree, it's easy to believe that Denfeld always chokes at the end of their season, but they always hit the heart of their schedule towards the end of the year. They did just beat Superior, WI who had a 2-1 lead on Duluth East in the third tonight before East scored the game winner with 6.1 seconds left in the game.
They have a chance to prove themselves and that will be this game against DM on Thursday night, If they win this game - look out. Momentum and the number one seed going into the playoffs is a dangerous combination for their opponents.

Goaltending: I'm gonna say that it's pretty equal...assuming is Kolquist/Bening.
Defensemen: I'll give this one to Marshall..although DD has one defensemen standout (number 4?), Marshall has a little more depth, with Dano Jacques, along with a better supporting cast
Offensively: I'll give this edge to DD. Their first line (Davis, Jensen, and Wence? not sure on the sp), I think, will be able to keep Marshall's first line in check at least...however I think that Marshall's second line will be overmatched by DD second line with Jake Johnson, Chris Stafne, and Cody Hotchkins
As long as the JJ line can take advantage of being a...'2nd line' i think that Denfeld will be able to come up to play, not to mention the whole rivalry was thickened last year when Bordson switched over.
DD: 5-6 (empty net possiblity)
DM: 4
Oh...and suckhole...you really do need a life if that's what you're spending your spare time on

Denfeld at Marshall
Watched Marshall against Totino and they looked good. Moved the puck well and looked good. Also watched Denfelds two games up north. While they did lose both games. I-Falls goalie and #22 won the game for them. Denfeld looked ok and should have won. A hot goalie will do that for you and steal a game. Against Warroad Davis hits a crossbar and it could have changed the game for Denfeld. I think if Denfelds Defensemen have a good game. Denfeld wins a close one. Denfeld 3 Toppers 2 I hope the hunters win ! and get the # 1 seed !

an empty netter with 6.1 seconds left, not the winning goal. If it weren't
for their goalie standing on his head, it would have been quite a lopsided
score

Nope East scored the game winning goal with 6.1 seconds left in the 3rd and the empty net goal with 1.5 left. Here's the box score.forecheck wrote:I believe East scored
