Bantam A Regional Pick-the Winners

Post by Pucknutz69 »

North
A = GR - will have a good weekend.
B = Bemidji - loser by bracket
C = Brainard - couple of ot loses could have been #1 out of 15
D = Hibbing - ?????

E = Roseau - we will see what they have when they get away from d16
F = Virginia - ????
G = Moorhead - pretty weak in St Cloud when I saw them not much
H = EGF - ???

West
A = Wayzata = weak d3 comp hurts vs d6 teams
B = Mound/Westonka - como/owatonna of the west
C = Edina - can't beat playoff experiance
D = Jefferson - too many close games used thier mojo just getting here

E = Sartell = my darkhorse of the West Region
F = Hopkins - a.......no
G = Eden Prairie
H = Osseo - will be competitive but not enough

East
A = Tartan - goaltending, but can they stay out of the box
B = Blaine - not this year watch out next though
C = Hermantown - unrealistic view of themselves
D = Elk River - Darkhorse for the East

E = Centennial - tough bracket someone has to lose
F = Stillwater can't pick between DE so I go with the ones I know. Home ice advantage
G = Duluth East - has to stay in hotel
H = Cloquet - to far from home

South
A = Faribault - no chance
B = Como - not even close, be lucky to score a goal
C = Rochester - losers, always will be not enough talent
D = White Bear - will catch the HS curse at state, choke, choke just want the to beat rochester

E = Highland Central - at least they think they have a chance, but no.
F = Owatonna - same as como
G = Lakeville South - gave it all in Districts, thier luck that is.
H = Eagan - found themselves in Districts

Just so people don’t get confused. Pucknutz69 took both the winners out of the upper bracket in the North because the #1 Red pools finisher plays #2 Blue finisher and visa versa on Sunday.
Another words GR and Brainerd are both better (I agree) than Roe/Virg/Moore/EFG and will both advance out of the Sundays games to get the final two teams to state.

So you know two teams can advance from one pool of each of the Regions. :wink:

Stillwater has beaten Centennial this year and are playing really well. The same goes for Eagan I think thier size will be too much for Lakeville South. Just my picks put up yours and we can compare.

i agree with you pucknutz i think Eagans size (which also has speed) can overtake the Cougars of Lakeville South
they play each other on friday for the first region game
it will be interesting to find out who will prevail

even if Eagan defeats Lakeville South its in pool play so if they both win their other two games it still comes down to a probable match up with White Bear or Rochester.

Centennial, Stillwater, DE, and Cloquet (not sure about them)...Jeez what a bracket. It will be a big help having two of those teams [for sure] not advancing to state...I think it will be DE and Cloquet not making an appearance but who knows. Stillwater and DE will come out very close, and I got Centennial winning that region.

North
Rapids- Good Goaltending, Should handle Brainerd
Bemidji-Good team stuck in a tough pool
Brainerd- Good, but Rapids will prove too much for them
Hibbing- ???

Roseau- Too much speed for others
Virginia-???
Moorhead- Couple of good players but that wont get you anywhere this time of year
EGF-???

West
Wayzata- Good but wont be able to handle the D-6 game
Mound- 4th, lucky to score
Edina- Them and Jefferson will battle but i like the Jags
Jefferson- Same as the Edina one

Sartell- Good first line but thats it
Hopkins- haha funny
Eden Prarie- Best team in the State hands down
Osseo- Good job making it here, but wont do anything

East
Tartan - Great goaltender and solid D
Blaine-not enoufhg fire power to take down the big boys of this one
Hermantown- Way to full of themselves
Elk River- My upset special, not really that big of one, but Tarten will be surprised by them

Centennial- ! player cant do it all
Stillwater- Wont beat DE again
DE- Best team in the region
Cloquet-???

South
Fairbault- not good enough
Como- Lucky the TC district takes 2 teams
Rochester- way too overconfident, parent power can only go so far
White Bear- Shuts down Rochesters only strength the, their powerplay

Higland-There ok, but not great
Owatonna- Wont do anything
Lakeville South- Riding the McNeely train to state
Eagan- Luck ran out in playoffs

Maybe everyone has read what was posted earlier, but.....
in case you missed it.....

Two teams advance from each region.

Both teams can be from the same pool.

Sundays games are cross-over #1 from one pool versus #2 from the other pool and vice versa.
Thus Team A and Team B from Pool #1 can both go to state, and no one from Pool #2 .

Here goes. Good luck to all and congratulations for your achievements thru out the year. Have a good time and represent your community with honor.
North Red

D 12 #1 = GR - consistent /pride
D 16 #2 = Bemidji – Too much talk about all year. Gets GR and a bad draw in Brainerd kills they hopes
D 15 #2 = Brainerd – Dark horse worth making BOLD. Even thou the Brain only scored 3 goals in three Districts playoff GAMES? Hopefully saved some for Regional’s? Whats up? They get banded from there board too? D15 thing.
D 12 #3 = Hibbing – no way
North Blue
D 16 #1 = Roseau - don’t know who shows up
D 12 #1 = Virginia - ?
D 15 #1 = Moorhead – Should have been Alexandria but in #2 spot. #7???
D 16 # 3 = EGF – a softer blue than red, give it a go!

West RedD 3 #1 = Wayzata = Keep themselves a secret on their games/scores outside of district 3 postings? Feeling inferior?
D 5 #2 = Mound/Westonka – Even Crow wooden matter
D 6 #2 = Edina – Name can sometimes beat teams in the locker room.
D 6 #3 = Jefferson – penalty trouble according to forum?
West Blue
D 5 #1 = Sartell = agree on dark horse, newer association with no history? Earning some?
D 3 #2 = Hopkins – went a month with no wins and now in Regional’s. Enjoy.
D 6 #1 = Eden Prairie
D 3 #3 = Osseo – First games EP, ouch?

East Red
D 2 #1 = Tartan – HEP does not matter now, but do penalties play a bigger roll now to kill against a tough group?
D 10 #2 = Blaine – Wow, loss to St. Cloud or was that the plan to take the back roads?
D 11 #2 = Hermantown – Needs healthy players. Dark Horse that never quits
D 10 #3 = Elk River – Harder districts road. Win red but loss to # 2 Blue?
East Blue
D 10 # 1 = Centennial - tough bracket someone has to win
D 2 #2= Stillwater - don’t have that image the rest have, try to hard/miss – Q’s?
D 11 #1 = Duluth East – tough bracket someone has to win
D 11 #3 = Cloquet – too much of everything with three listed above.

South Red
D 4 #1 = Faribault - no chance it’s not the old Silver region days anymore
D 1 #2 = Como – worked to get here, enjoy!
D 8 #2 = Rochester – will make up for districts
D 2 #3 = White Bear – Finish in top two and take the Blue. Go DaBear!
South Blue
D 1 #1 = Highland Central – How’d they make Let’s Play list?
D 4 #2= Owatonna - anybody got a chance in the South.
D 8 #1 = Lakeville South – lucky to be in the south regions blue, but red awaits you?
D 8 #3 = Eagan – Up to five teams a week in the top Real 20 ratings all year from 1 district? Did anybody else notice? D8 can’t be that good.
