Albert Lea doesn't have nearly the skill of Orono. Unless AL's goalie is on fire, I'm gonna take:

Albert Lea - 1

Orono - 4

You would you people up north have no respect for Sotheren Minnesota Hockey. You people up north disrespect every team that comes out of Southern Minnesota.

Albert Lea will win and you people up north wonder why us down south have no respect for Northern teams. Well maybe if you people up North show us and all the other teams from Southern Minnesota respect maybe we would show you and other teams respect from up in the Northern part of the state. Think about that why don't you and all the other people up North to do the same; infact why don't all of you think about together.

Albert Lea= 3
Orono= 2

Oh and us here in Albert Lea have a great senior goalie in which we believe we have his back all the way his name is Clay Casanova.

No disrespect, I'm just stating my opinion. AL does have a good goalie, but I think Orono is a better all-around team.

I understand that you just stated your opinion. I just got upset when I saw another person from up North saying that somebody is better than Albert Lea. sinbin006 you are the first person on this forum who has actually shown respect to Albert Lea and other teams from Southern Minnesota and I appreciate your opinion and thanks for showing us respect.

Umm orono deffintally has a better goalie also peterson he stopped like three break aways today. even if it was blake thats still impressive plus how is being in the middle of the state being a northern team? i understand that they are north of AL but that still doesn't make them a northern team. because orono is only about 20 miles from minniapolis. so are you saying that the metro area is in the north?

Orono will win this one. They simply have to much offense for AL something that AL doesnt have. Also Orono's defense is pretty good. Goaltending is good between both teams. Both teams have Senior starters so its gonna be a good game to watch.

Orono-4
Albert Lea-2

Good luck to the Tigers Saturday morning. I'd love to make a prediction but I don't know anything about Orono's squad. Throw as much rubber at the net as possible AL and crash in for those rebounds. I didn't get to see the second game of the tournament, but loved the way the Tigers played defence against Warroad and the discipline of their forecheck. They always had the third man high preventing any odd man rushes. Other teams may have more skills and talent, but Roy and his staff are very difficult to out coach. Good luck again and hope to see some hardware in your hands by games end!

I thought AL would struggle with an offensive-minded club, too.
But then they played LFalls yesterday, and look what happened.
Roy and his boys keep it rollin'.
Another 5-2 or 5-3 win for AL.

Orono will win 4-1.

You kinda sound like a Johnny Reb with all your north vs. south talk.

Just like the civil war, the south will not rise again in this game.

Despite the loss to STA, Orono has played some very good team hockey since the first section game. Their experienced players along with some good young talent has played very well and should match up well with less experienced but very talented AL. I expect a good close game.

You moron. We/Albert Lea have just as much if not more experience. We/Albert Lea have 8 seniors. We have great Center just maybe one of the top 5 in the State in Mark Walton, we have Dustin Arendt, Andrew Weisart, Lucas Hanson, Matt Hobbie, Evan Hegwood, Zack Schumaker (Zach can't play one who got into fight in Little Falls game). We have 7 juniors and 6 sophmores. Once again somebody/everbody up norh disrespects southern teams. So I am going to disrespect the northern teams along with Orono too. They are all SIV's. Also we have a great Senior Goalie who was the best in the Big 9 and we/Albert Lea believe in him. Siv's we/Albert Lea will be bringing home that Consolation Trophy once again because we/Albert Lea will be riding this goalie's back. Oh and the goalie/my boy's name is Clay Casanova.

Albert Lea wins by a score of 3 to 2. Clay/Nova my boy will come up big.

Super fan.....I know you're frustrated by the lack of respect shown to southern MN teams, namely Albert Lea. But come on man, show a little respect to the rest of us AL and southern MN fans. I understand you're angry/frustrated and probably a lot of other things, but some of the stuff you say on here is downright embarrassing. I know you're the "Super Fan" and all, but think a little before you speak/type. The easiest way to earn respect is by showing some class before, during, and after a game....whether you win or lose. You can win 10-0 and act like a total donkey and not get any respect at all. While you can lose a close 3-1 game and get all the respect in the world. A wise man once said, "respect is earned." Whether or not some 19 year old punk from up north who has never put on a pair of skates and doesn't even know where Albert Lea is, repects the AL hockey team or not means nothing to me. But I can guarantee you one thing. Warroad, Little Falls and every other team that has played against them certainly do respect them.

ORONO = 1
ALBERT LEA = 0

Casanova and AL

Post by goaler »

Casanova has played great in this tournament and pretty much great all year. I know he's had his doubters in the past and I for one am glad to see him succeed. Congratulations to Clay and the Albert Lea team for an outstanding season and I hope they beat Orono.

AL represented Southern Minnesota well again. Despite the fact that we are bitter rivals during the year, I am proud of the quality of hockey AL has displayed.

I'm convinced that Roy Nystrom is a great hockey coach.

Yea he really did play out of his mind. He had like 35 shots and had some amazing saves...got lucky on a couple. But for a starting goalie to give his backup such respect when he goes out there for 5 minutes shows how good of a person he is. He is an amazing athlete and person. Congrats Orono on a good season.
