Tartan needs more depth and experiance, They have 2/3 of a line that can skate with anyone but in order for them to make a huge impact they will need to develop 3 solid lnes and one of them will have to be super. They are in a tough section so that won't help them. But the bantam team finishing strong certainly will help, I guess I can see the titans having a better than average year but I would't go get my box for the state tournamnet quite yet...someone will have to emerge as a bonified superstar in order for this team to be great and I don't see that happening this upcoming season

Well, my opinion is that their fans will remain as jackassy (and grammatically incorrect) as ever - no reason to believe otherwise based on this post.

I'm sure the team will fall apart as usual. No prayer in the new 4AA anyway... that team won't be able to hang with HM, WBL, or Roseville.

they do have 4 or 5 guys that will step up this year, on offense, Mike Kurz and Ryan Abrahamson, abrahamson, was probably the best player last year too, and now having matured looks to have a breakout year, and jakle glass and tim anderson on defense, both big senior defensman looking to get a couple of looks this year, so i think they will be fine, anyone else have an opinion? and how did tartan break down last year? i thought they almost beat woodbury? who beat hill, and johnson did what?

All I know is that we beat Tartan both times this year and we will do the same thing next year.

Tartan again will have average talent. Add that to lack of discipline from a coaching staff and the best you can expect is an average season. They have no shot at winning the conference (see HM & STA) and have no shot at winning the section (see HM, WB, and Roseville). I certainly hope that Tartan people learned their lesson last year on this board. They came in pretty confident/cocky and began talking about how good they were gonna be & who they were gonna destroy. Then the puck was dropped and so were their dreams. They are no different than NSP, SSP, Richfield...but those other teams don't seem to come out of the woodwork and talk smack about their teams. I have more respect for those other clubs. So Tartan fans, enjoy the summer, try not to get arrested, and try to be realistic about next year's team.

Do we really have to rehash Tartan's lack of discipline and how they went straight down the crapper when they snapped? Go find the old threads, and review the Titans' schedule after the NSP game.

See, unlike Tartan fans, I'm not delusional enough to think my squad has a chance in 4AA... which is why I didn't say anything about Johnson, genius. Nice try. Learn English.

Like I said before Tartan has 2/3 of a line (Mike Kurz and Ryan Abrahamson) and would need to develop 3 solid lines to make any sort of a move.....and your right the lack of discipline kills them, I think they have some good player but i don't see them developing under the Tartan program

dont get arrested? hmmmmm, i believe it was HILL MURRAY, not TARTAN that had to have the authorities called to there school, due to some poor little catholic kid, with no discipline, threatening to stab a teacher, am i right? o yeaaa, i am, and for how good hill was SUPPOSED to be last year, and how BAD we were SUPPOSED to be, isnt it weird that they lost to century? and that they only beat the lowly titans 4-2? hmmm, weirddd, and lack of coaching and discipline huh? one of our head coaches played over 10 years in the nhl, i think he might know a little more about hockey than a hockey coach who picks his SON who is terrible at hockey and baseball, to be on both sports that he coaches, hockey and baseball, and a crippled guy also is the coach

Very mature! Making comments about Schaffhauser is way uncalled for. Grow up, you have tried to get people to comment about Tartan and they have. Now you have shown how much class Tartan is lacking. Hill made it to the State tournament, Tartan didn't even get close. The differance between having the cops called is that Tartan has a COP at school all day long and Hill has to call for one when needed.

You were looking for thoughts about your hockey team keep it to that, not picking on the Lechner kid and making comments about Schaffhauser, who is on of the best coaches around.

15 replies and viewed 750 times. I read the posts and wasn't going to reply until he started with the Jr high comments. It is Sunday and most are out enjoying the day or working like myself. I bet there will be more adding to this or it will get locked and deleted by Tuesday afternoon.

And fell 2 shots short of setting a state record. So, if Johnson was that bad (and they were), what does that say about Tartan?

But again, if you think I can't get over that, Sport-o, you're sadly mistaken. Like I say, I have brain in my head (unlike Tartan fans, and yourself evidently), so I don't expect much from the Govs. It's a sense of reality that is clearly lacking in Oakdale.

And who said anything about Johnson in this thread anyway?! It wasn't me. You people need to learn how to pick your fights - and learn English. It's pretty evident they don't teach it there, or you kids don't pay attention. Too busy daydreaming about having a quality hockey club I guess.

Tartan... bad education... bad school.... even though its ranked better than most suburban schools not to mention its contribution to the community example the 2nd highest per student capita raised for relay for life and this year they were first in the nation for per capita.. raising over $115,000... sounds like a bad school with no motivation at all....

?

But I mean how many fights does Johnson have a day? Drop out rate? I bet I could guesse.... but I know its not the same Johnson I went to 30 years ago

Johnson

Post by The Truth »

I don't know how this happens but everytime there is a Tartan thread somehow Johnson gets brought up. Leave us out of your little battles. You guys seem very worried about a team that supposedly is never any good and has a school of fighters and drop outs according to PuckNasty07. You also appear to be another ex Eastsider who moved to Oakdale and is now on a high horse.

TARTANTITAN11, I remember a few years back when the Tartan Cross Country team was going to walk through sections and probably state and three of their top guys went on a car stealing rampage and didn't get to run. I've heard of plenty of other stuff that has happened, so don't try to get out of that one.

The one thing I will back you on, though, is people putting you down for this post "I do know alot about them, im wondering what other peoples opinions are on them, are you stupid?": The point of starting a thread is to see what people's opinions about something are and talk about it. People posting and putting other people down just keep it freshly at the top, so if you don't have anything constructive to say, the thread will go away.

On the other hand, what's with all the tartan threads? And the disrespect in them? Tartan fans come on here and talk their team up like they are so amazing then when they lose those games they act like jerks to the people that were putting them down to begin with. Try to be a little more respectful and people will respect you.

They have no shot at the conference title and with the section title, it'll be tough. Like has been said before, they have good players, but they don't develop very well for some reason.

Oh did Hill have a year they didn't win the conference championship this century? Didn't really notice myself. Why does a thread about how good or not good Tartan is going to be always have to be a bashing of Hill and Johnson and anyone else Tartan kids feel inferior to? Tartan will be a distant third this year in the conference. My guess is STA could very well be better then Hill this year, although we will see...

I said that they wouldn't in 05? I've only been posting for a year so I couldn't have.

Plus this is a thread about Tartan this coming year. Don't try to go back to when they were better. Yes, that year they were very good. But going back to what I said, by posting the way you do you are losing respect for the school. Outside of probably Park no one would have any disrespect for the 05 team, but when you bring them up in a topic that has nothing to do with that team because you have nothing constructive to say, it reflects poorly. Just stick to the topic at hand.

TARTAN

Tartan is a distant 6th at best!
SSP, Mahtomedi and Richfield will all finish ahead of the mighty Titians. All three are returning strong teams.
