Jason Johnson.... Coming from the men side should be interesting!! Hope he can guide the huskies in the right direction!

Thing definatly looking up for them though... a lot returning! Should be fun to watch for the next couple years!

They never should have let Lesteberg go in the first place. He's the one who turned the program around, gets them to .500 and into the Final 5 only to be let go for no good reason. I find it interesting that this Johnson fella says that he hopes to continue helping coach Giesen guide the program in the right direction.

Seems to me that Coach Giesen has taken a step back since taking over for Lesteberg.

I definitely expected a better season and overall record from the Huskies last season. However I think it may be premature to condemn Giesen's performance based on that one season. In games I saw last season, the Huskies were the best skating / quickest SCSU team I've ever seen. I expect improvement this season...they've added alot of talent with some consecutive excellent recruiting classes including the current incoming frosh. Lesteberg deserves much credit for some of that recruiting (at the least). I wouldn't count the Huskies out of .500 and WCHA tourney 2nd round contention in 2007-08 by any means. Always have to keep in mind how tough the WCHA has become with just about every team improving significantly.

It will be interesting to see if the Huskies can make it work...they now have two former DIII men's assistant coaches on staff trying to make a run for it in the very difficult women's WCHA. You would of thought they would of brought someone in with a little stronger tie to women's hockey instead of his buddy.....I do agree though they have a lot of talented young players coming in this year.
