8AA is the hardest with Roseau and Morehead

7AA has to be right up there with Duluth East, Cloquet, GR, Elk River, and Brainerd. Are ER and Brainerd still in there? Maybe Brainerd is in 8AA now. I'm sure someone will straighten me out.

Section 2AA is going to be a very tough section:

Academy of Holy Angels
Bloomington Jefferson High School
Bloomington Kennedy High School
Burnsville High School
Chaska High School
Edina High School
Prior Lake High School
Shakopee High School

With 2 teams remaining virtually intact that both played in the State tourney last March (Edina and Burnsville) and Holy Angels being a tough contender every year, it will be a tough section to win. Jefferson has some strong young talent and could be a surprise this year.

Brainerd moved to 8 AA and Anoka was added to 7AA. This is the
toughest section no doubt.

I didnt realize they put all those teams in the same section. AHA, BJ, Burnsville and Edina should not be in the same section.

It will be tough to win it and maybe a little unfair.

No anti-metro sentiment there at all.

2AA is the toughest. Nothing else is close.

Unfair, than why is anoka and elk river in 7aa,they're not even in the same area code. Maby someone doesn't want to see any northern teams at state. We sent 4 teams in A and AA and they all played 4 the championship, so what do you do add another city team up north? Who's running this lou nanne?

I don't know about those teams being all in 2AA unless it's the new one....because last year Burnsville was in 5AA, Chaska was in 6AA, Bloomington Jefferson was in 6AA, Edina was in 6AA, and AHA was in 5AA...... so im gonna go with 8AA or 7AA as the toughest plus they are better teams up north...until i know thats the the new 2AA

7AA They have the "traditional" rivalries built in, plus some pretty strong metro competition moving in.

Yeah, the thing to remember is the MSHSL's goal. Which is to get equal representation from around the state. They don't care about where the talent is. If two or three sections have all the top teams, so be it.

Even with Cent. gone, the new section4AA (old 3AA) will still be a tough section to get out of with Hill, WBL, Roseville, and an improving Stillwater.

This section will be amazing to watch.......their could be Edina-Jefferson and AHA-Burnsville semifinals....the potential for an upset by shakopee or prior lake, chaska, and kennedy (well probably not) but still.....amazing!

The most competitive will be section 1A. A lot of tough new teams with a lot of the old rivalries still in tact.

I didn't realize all of those teams ended up in 2AA together.
Wow.
Whoever comes out of that section should be tournament ready.

2AA is definitely the toughest section. I can say that and i'm from the great white north. Tough section, but it's mostly just cake eaters. 7AA & 8AA are both good sections as well, just not as stacked. 8AA is very top heavy with Roseau and Moorhead, but it's pretty poor after that. 7AA is a little tougher to get out of than 8AA, but 8AA has the best team in the state with the now 7 time state champion Roseau Rams. 8 in 08' and 9 in 09' are definite possibilities. Back to back runner ups for the Indians from 7AA. So, even though 2AA looks like the best section....when's the last time any of those teams made it to a title game? I think 2AA might be a little soft when they get to the big stage.

when you say " 7AA is not as stacked, do you mean in teams
or players?" 2AA has Edina, Burnsville, Holy Angels while 7AA has
Cloquet, East, Elk River, Anoka AND Grand Rapids. I believe 7AA has the
toughest section in the state with the addition of Anoka this year.
