A-rod

Post by dangla. »

everyone should know that he just hit his 500's home run and was the youngest player to hit 500 home runs. Why doesn't anyone accuse him of using steroids?

Because his head hasn't grown 4 hat sizes since 1998?

Being a really good athlete doesn't mean you cheated. Being all right and then getting huge over night and then being amazingly better does.

You also thought you'd play a full season of fantasy baseball.

Look, I don't know that I blame Barry as much as I do MLB. If you don't have a testing policy in place, these things are going to happen. I'm just really indifferent about him breaking the record... he used steroids, but MLB turned a blind eye. Who's to blame?

Granted, assuming he took the roids in this country, he broke the law, but then it falls on the justice system to grab him and I personally would rather they spend their time taking care of more important things than guys who want to shoot themselves in the rear end. They should be pursuing more important crimes like perjury and tax evasion.

But hey... if you're a fan of the guy, you're entitled. Everybody is. At least he can hit a baseball.

Amen with Govs on the "he didn't break a rule because there wasn't one at the time". I totally support him breaking the record.

ARod is pure athletic ability. The guy works super hard and has always been a superior athlete. Plain and simple.

Anything the Twins could do to acquire this beast of a player?

Yeah they could pay him a ton of money, which won't happen because they are already going to have to pay Santana and Hunter. That is if they want to keep the best pitcher in baseball. Hunter is the best fielding Center-fielder not to mention he is going to hit 30 HR and drive in 100 runs. I don't see how you can let that go.

This is true.

But wouldn't it be awesome if we did? Aside from whatever position Punto's playing, our offense would be great and our defense would be great like it is now. That would be a championship winning team.

Well, if we fix every other position, having him around will be fine, especially with the great defensive plays he's made as of late. I'm not sure how, but the last few games he's found a way to do some really great things with the few hits he gets. Another thing about him is his base running ability.
