I believe the teams from MN won 10 out of 16 games.
The south lost their first 2 by a goal, but having never played or practiced together...they did very well and improved with every game.
I am sure the same could be said for all 4 teams. I saw a couple of the other teams games and they looked very good as well.
Any criticism leveled at the Elite II league in regards to the players skill level is overblown.
I gaurantee that a large percentage of these kids will be playing and contributing on the Varsity level at the various high schools.
Another note...yes the Boston teams were U16 level...but they were club level teams made up of players who go through tryouts etc... not a showcase type situation at all . Most were high school aged players from multiple schools and they travel all over playing in east coast midget leagues and tourneys. Hockey is very different out there. These club teams are equally if not slightly more important than the high school team.
I watched 2 of their 17U teams practice and I gaurantee they could give our Elite Classic teams a run for their money.
Also anyone who was there probably noticed a difference in the style of play...very chippy, alot of slashing and extra curricular after the whistle stuff...personally I somewhat enjoyed it as a fan, the kids played like they were trying to prove who had the better hockey and once the MN boys adjusted it was game on!
Put it this way...I don't know if they have the STOP signs on there backs in youth hockey out there and I don't know if they have the same "new rules" like we adopted last year...if they do they don't follow them as closely.

hey the noth did awsome the played really well togather. the whole team played good and contributed to the wins. some players that scored were trevor george- roseau, juliuse tamasy- brainerd, cody wilder- moorhead, Alex Phelps and Mitch Martinson- roseau. the goalies played awsome with Derek Dudgeon
Congrats Minnesota Boys!
Congratulations to ALL of the Minnesota boys who played in the Jamboree out east. They definitely play a different "style" of hockey out there and we had a very respectable showing. That North team was outstanding though. Keep up the good work boys and you all will have some excellent high school careers!!!
