Remember #17

Post by twowayplay »

Girls Hockey lost a wonderful kid last Saturday night. Kelly Phillips, a Senior at Minnetonka High School, passed away after a car crash on Friday. Kelly wore #17 (her favorite number) for the Skippers and will be greatly missed by many in the community. She left her mark on many many people and was a gracious and caring young woman. God bless Kelly, her family and all of the people she has touched.

My sympathies go out to her family and those who knew her well. Such a tragedy.

I happened to see the obit in the paper earlier today. I don't normally read this section, but in skimming through I couldn't help but notice her picture. The narrative did mention that she played hockey at Minnetonka; I'm sure her loss is a very difficult loss for her teammates as well.

Tragic week on the roads.

The Phillips family has been a great supporter of girls hockey in Minnetonka; her father was past girls commissioner and is a great person. I can't imagine a tougher loss than a child. Our thoughts and prayers to the family.

Have you hugged your hockey player today!

Just adding similar thoughts! It certainly is a reality check that we never know how much time we have with the ones we love so savor each moment. Our sympathies go out to the family and friends of this young lady.

I did not know her, but am very sorry to hear of your loss. I will put the #17 on the bottom of my kids skates in memory of your daughter and in memory of how precious life is.
