Lake Conference AA vs A (Private School)

Post by CrashDaNET »

If a child has a option of a playing hockey with a Lake Conference High School AA (Middle of the Pack AA Team in rankings) vs Private A (Higher Ranking A Team)School. (With education being equal) Where would he get more looks for college hockey? And why?

pick a team that has a better chance of going to the state tournament. that's where they get a lot of looks. an argument can be made, however, that he should play where he is a standout. tough decision. go private.

Have him go to the school where his friends are. The scouts find all of the elite players. If the kid is a middle of the pack player in a AA school, he'll still be a middle of the pack player in a A private school. Where you play does not change your skill level.

If he's good enough to get looks for college hockey he will get them regardless of where he plays HS hockey.

If the education is equal, I would go were ever the best coach is. Good coaches certainly help their players get noticed.

Play with who you grew up playing with, you will get noticed no matter what.

Exception would be if one coach is really superior to the other you do still need to be able to develop as a player. But otherwise stay public.

Play at the school where the kid will do the best he can: education first sports second.
