Grand Rapids vs. Lakeville North (12/29-1:00 p.m.)

Post by boblee »

Grand Rapids will drop their 2007 State Runner-Up Banner and honor the 2007 team prior to the 1:00 p.m. game on December 29th vs. Lakeville North.

Here is a game preview:

This game will also have live stat updates. I don't know if any of you watched them during the Moorhead game, but they are great if you are not able to attend the game. They can be found here:

http://www.grhshockey.com/liveupdates.htm

*The page will update every 15 seconds and a new updated will be posted after every whistle.

Thoughts/Opinions/Predictions/Updates/Post-game are all welcome here.

GR vs Lakeville North

Boblee:

When will Rapids retire Grandma's chair at the IRCC?

It sounds like she deserves it based on all her years of passionate team support of the kids and the community.

As for the game: Rapids in a rout 5-0.

Might be a better game than some might think.

GR should prevail, however it will probably be a close game.

Rapids shouldn't have any problems with Lakeville. Hibbing handled them pretty easily tonight.

Rapids 7
Lakeville 2

How come Rapids isn't playing in the Hibbing Tournament?

Greenway knocked off Lakeville tonight 4-1. Hopefully they won't take it out on GR. You never know. Hate to base predictions based on games vs common opponents, but...I'll have to change mine. GR opens the floodgates and wins this one big. I'll have to say 8-2.

Remdinder:

There will be live updates via grhshockey.com. I won't have much for a post game until Sunday or Monday. Pulling up shop and heading right back to Edina for the GRG-Blaine girls game after the boys game tomorrow.

The officiating in the LN-Greenway game was borderline ridiculous. I kind of lost count but I think that LN had over 12 penalties compared to Greenways 2. It sure looks like this whole weekend in Hibbing that the city teams are kind of getting the shaft on alot of calls.

Eagle4life,

So by getting the shaft, what you are really saying is that they are learning what they can get away with when dealing with refs who are from 'da range? Isn't that what life is all about - learning for your experiences?

In today's game with GR, maybe they'll have it figured out and take less penalties.

Good luck to both teams!
It is what it is!

Can Cloquet still play w/o Tyler Johnson? It's a team game man. Grand Rapids has a great program with great coaches. It's what you call a school with a "deep feeder system".

In my opinion, I saw one of the poorer played hockey games of the year. GR was off all day even though they scored 7. LN played like a Bantam B team from southern Iowa. Good to see GR can still win big over a lesser opponent even when they don't have their A game. How in the world did LN beat EP?
