They will make it to the semis, and end up losing to a better Alex or LF team in the semis, in what is not a great section.

I just can't see them beating Little Falls, and maybe Alex.

Everyone who reads any of this forum already knows my opinions on Apollo no need to go into their brutalness.

The answer to your question is NO based on all the other points I've already given about Apollo in different forums.

Not lengthy, but you will get an answer.

If they can stay out of the box and get consistent production out of their second and third lines they have a small chance. The hard part is getting to do both...at the same time.

I think they have other things to worry about before setting a goal such as State. It is possible, but they need to get their stuff together, fast, and keep it together.

From Follow the Puck web page it looks like Apollo need to make a move in the standings.
Otherwise they face the Small Falls out of the gun as of today.
Last place team at almost halfway point thru season to State?
Section 6A Standings

2 Wadena-Deer Creek 7-4-1 -----2-0-1
3 Fergus Falls 4-3-2 ---------------3-1-0
4 Alexandria 6-4-1----------------- 1-1-0
5 Sartell-St. Stephen 3-7-0--------1-2-0
6 Detroit Lakes 4-6-0 --------------1-2-0
7 Prairie Centre Area 5-4-1 --------0-0-1

These standings would mean something if they all played each other, but the don't. Apollo only plays four of the eight teams: Little Falls, Alexandria, Fergus Falls and Sartell. Pretty tough to automatically put them in last when they lose to arguably 3 of the top 4 teams.

Apollo will be most likely seeded higher than Morris and PC even if they have a worse record.

Well STC18, hows 8AA looking to you?

Section 8AA Standings
As of 01/01/08

Pos...Team............Overall Record.......Section Record

1 Northern Lakes.......................9-2-1.....2-0-0
2 #1 Roseau............................10-0-0....1-0-0
3 Brainerd/Pillager/Pierz.............8-3-0....1-0-0
4 Buffalo....................................5-4-2.....1-1-0
5 #20 Moorhead.........................5-4-1.....1-1-0
6 Monticello................................4-7-1.....1-1-0
7 River Lakes.............................1-10-0....1-1-0
8 St. Cloud Tech.........................5-4-0.....0-1-0
9 Becker/Big Lake/Milaca.............1-6-0.....0-3-0

Actually, Tech would be just fine with this ranking. Play-in game against Becker, then play No 1 seed Northern Lakes

Northern Lakes is a powerhouse... They may give Tech a run for their money.

Should be a dandy if Tech can get by those boys from BBL.

I have a feeling Roseau might run into some trouble with the Stars from River Lakes in that 2-7 match up. Should be a good game.

From the sound of the game they need to stay out of the box, the high flying flyers went through them with ease

Are the Apollo folks still getting their reservations together for March in St. Paul?

Now, I do think that Little Falls is a pretty good program. They're well coached and have been working hard for many years to be where they are, even without Festler. Doesn't Apollo have to go through LF again to get out of section playoffs? Not gonna happen boys...

Here is the road to STATE for the Apollo boys, of course these are the tune up games only for sections right?
My guess would be?
01/03/08 Little Falls ......... 7 – 1 LOSS
01/08/08 at Brainerd/Pillager/Pierz ............ LOSE
01/10/08 at St. Cloud Tech ......... LOSE
01/15/08 at Willmar ..........Split the series, this one a lose
01/17/08 Fergus Falls ......lost already, but either way
01/22/08 at River Lakes ..... BIG win and we will hear about on the forum
01/24/08 at Sauk Rapids-Rice ...... LOSE
01/29/08 Alexandria....... LOSE
01/31/08 Sartell-St. Stephen ........ Either way
02/05/08 at St. Michael-Albertville ...... WIN
02/07/08 Brainerd/Pillager/Pierz ....... LOSE
02/12/08 St. Cloud Tech ....... LOSE
02/14/08 Willmar .......split the series, this one a win.

Now this could change, they have some talent (no D-1) but the play needs to be cleaned up, how can a coach be happy with the minutes in the box?
