Spin the Johan Roulette
Where's he gonna end up?
What says the prospects offered now for him are still going to be offered come trade deadline time? And what says Johan is going to want to get traded 3 months before an all out bidding war on him at the ripe age of 29?

I doubt that will happen for 2 reasons:
1. Johan is in big demand
2. The Twins need to get something done and will be willing to take prospects.
Mauer and Morneau are young. Their pitching staff is young and the kid they just traded Garza for is too.
Smith may realize that he cant trade his way to a better team in 08 and 09 and just work toward having a solid young team that has a lot of potential when they go into the new park.
It makes no sense for the Twins to hang on to Santana. They cant afford him. They are just playing poker with the teams that can.
Its actually been awhile since the Twins got nothing for a star player until Hunter just recently.

And after that, we should flip Nathan to the Yanks for A-Rod and Joba.George Blanda wrote:Might as well throw Pedro and Beltran in there too!!hockeymasta wrote:trade him to the mets for reyes and wright. this would also get him out of the AL so the Twins wouldnt have to face him.

But that leaves us a void at closer...might as well snag Rivera a bag of baseballs.BrianofNazareth wrote:And after that, we should flip Nathan to the Yanks for A-Rod and Joba.George Blanda wrote:Might as well throw Pedro and Beltran in there too!!hockeymasta wrote:trade him to the mets for reyes and wright. this would also get him out of the AL so the Twins wouldnt have to face him.

Nah, we can just put Joba at closer. I hear Punto is going to San Diego for Peavy.George Blanda wrote:But that leaves us a void at closer...might as well snag Rivera a bag of baseballs.BrianofNazareth wrote:And after that, we should flip Nathan to the Yanks for A-Rod and Joba.George Blanda wrote: Might as well throw Pedro and Beltran in there too!!

I believe Babe Ruth and Ted Williams are currently unsigned. Maybe we could land them.EREmpireStrikesBack wrote:hockeymasta wrote:trade him to the mets for reyes and wright. this would also get him out of the AL so the Twins wouldnt have to face him.Are you kidding me?

IS doesn't take any crap. In fact, I don't think he recognizes sarcasm as a proponent of the English language.schwang17 wrote:Apparently I wasn't sarcastic enough...Irishmans Shanty wrote:Jon Lester is a young lefty the Red Sox really like. He missed most of this past season battling cancer.
He appears to be 100% in the clear and he'd fill the vacant spot left by Santana in the rotation.

I just don't want to settle for Melky Cabrera.
I like the Mets if they give us Martinez, Guerva and Pelfrey. Anyone else with that would be a bonus for me. Is that likely to get that and/or more? Depends on how desparate the Mets get. But they sure are more desperate than Boston.
It seems ridiculous that we can't get much for the best pitcher in baseball...
