Good question
I bet the answers you receive will be determined by when people were closest to it as players or parents.
Be kind. Rewind.

He was a part of it, but the entire thing was without a doubt the best season of hockey i've ever seen. Warroad was a very dominant team and were very fun to watch. They were undefeated but they had some close games as well. Whoever went to the game in Moorhead would probably say thats the best HS hockey game they've ever seen (tie). Plus the championship game at state was a great game as well.SiouxRecruit wrote:Does that choice has anything to do with Mr. Oshie?SB24 wrote:2005

Yes, they were definantly an awsome/dominant team that year....I was able to watch them once and I was VERY impressed....my most memorable season would be when I was maybe 12...so last year...SB24 wrote:He was a part of it, but the entire thing was without a doubt the best season of hockey i've ever seen. Yeah that was a good year, their schedule was easier than Park Rapids is this year.SB24 wrote:He was a part of it, but the entire thing was without a doubt the best season of hockey i've ever seen. For me it was 1995, 1996, and 1998; I got to see my brother win Apple Valley's first Boys State Hockey Tournament during his senior year in '96 and got to see my sister win the first ever Girls State Hockey Tournament during her freshmen year in '95 and a second State Championship during her senior year in '98. Unfortunately, none of my teams could duplicate their efforts.

The best seasons have to be when it was a one class system.
I would say the stretch from 1977-1979 was great because of the great teams - the Broten brothers and Busty Erickson from Roseau, Edina East, the great JM teams.
Then there was a stretch from 1983-1987 that also had some stellar teams. Hill Murray was a power; Burnsville won two titles; Kennedy had a title; Duluth Denfeld with Stauber; Warroad with Larry Olimb; Bemidji and Hibbing was also very good.
