Who wins in Duluth?

Post by themedic »

Based on stats, not who you play for. Who should do well this weekend?

Duluth
Anoka
Jefferson
Wayzata

Moundsview
TC Wessys
Stillwater
Chisom

Grand Rapids
Burnsville
Grand Forks ND
Mitchell SD

Sioux Falls SD
Minetonka
Hastings
Ft Frances

Based on what I've seen this year, I'd say Jefferson or Wessy's win the Duluth tournament. Although I have not seen Chisholm or any of the Dakota's teams playing.

I like Wessys taking it all. I got to watch them and other then some mental lapses they are a really good team.

Are you here to play hockey or watch football?

Apparently most of the teams would like to watch football. I know about about two years ago, two cities teams were in the championship and asked for running time so that they could go watch the game. They actually tried to skip the game all together as the two teams play each other on a regular basis anyway.

I mean c'mon, it's the super bowl.

Is this an "A" tourney or a "B" tourney?

This was an "A" tournament.
Who won the championship between Wessy's and Sioux Falls? Score?
Who won the 3rd place between Burnsville and Duluth? Score?

Finals

Post by themedic »

Sorry guys I worked the entire tourny so I didnt have much free time.

Burnsville and SF Sunday morning SF won. Close game.
Wessys and Duluth Sunday morning Wessys won.

Wessys and SF Sunday at 5, SF won. Didnt get to see the end, I was busy with several injurys.

I have no idea who won the Burnsville Duluth game for 3rd 4th.

The end of the SF Ft Frances game was excellent I hear, but again I was occupationally occupied, with a broken collarbone.

I think Jefferson went up twice. This weekend they lost to Duluth 6-1 (I think) on Sat. morning. I think they beat Wayzata and Anoka - but don't quote me.

Minnetonka and Wayzata

Post by JrGoldFan »

I think that minnetonka and wayzata had the best strategies in Duluth. They both pretty much forfeited, just to watch the super bowl.

I hope they planned it that way cause neither of them looked very good.

This years tourny was interesting. Teams I expected to do very well either had terrible luck or could care less. Just for fun we lined every team up on paper based on LPH ranking and I expected to see some great games. Jefferson had a terrible weekend. Tonka didnt do well at all.
Wayzata, Stillwater as well. Ft Frances maybe played the best game all wknd against Sioux Falls on Sat nite. But they also lost, just barely.

After watching them play several times I expected Wessys to be very competitive on Sunday. I dont know what their morning game was like, but they couldnt get the ball rolling, in any direction, in the champ game.
Interesting to see a team with that much tallent and ability roll over and play dead.

Maybe one of the parents had satelite tv in the car and they wanted to watch the game.

Why drive to Duluth, plan to lose, and spend a weekend in a motel in Duluth then. The town doesnt have much appeal other than hockey?

I'd highly doubt it was planned. Sounds like a convenient excuse for losing. Although I'm sure it was nice for them to get back and watch the SB.
