Grammys

Post by Govs93 »

Is anybody else as out of touch as I am with today's music? I tried watching a little bit of the Grammys last night, just to educate myself a little bit, and I couldn't do it... it was all crap. I think I made through about 1/2 an hour.

I will say, that I've always liked that "Wall of Sound" stuff, mostly from the songs in the 60's, so the Amy Winehouse thing isn't too bad - I see the appeal in it, and I've always been a big fan of the Foo Fighters, but everything else... junk.

I must be old.

Once again, no stand for humanity was made as she was rewarded with recognition and accolades. I think the sparse applause she did get was piped in.

My favorite part was when Vince Gill accepted his Grammy from Ringo Starr.

"I just got an award presented to me by a Beatle. Have you had that happen yet, Kanye?"

Geez... what a waste. I feel guilty for starting this thread and having Amy "Freaking" Winehouse put him over the top. Sorry, IS. Congrats anyway.

Never misinterpret effort for accomplishment as they are two very different things. Nevertheless, I stoically accept the kind words.

This might be the best transition I have ever seen a thread make, much less one started by Govs. Goes from crap like Amy Winehouse to IS making his 3k. I'm proud to see the 'bored' might be turning the corner.

I figured that you, being the youngest of the high ranking members of the bored, would come in here and blast away at this thread and tell us all how we're out of touch and that Kanye West is the bees knees.

Damn... that phrase isn't going to help.

Kanye is good stuff. As is Akon (coming to Winona State April 5th  ).

I'd rather not waste my time trying to educate the dinosaurs, I'll only get told how it wasImage
