The Junior Aaron Ness will be Mr. Hockey 2008. Since they had to use some word play to get him in the running this year before he leaves for the UofM next season, I'd say the voters want to give him his big award before leaving HS hockey.

I don't like Feinaghe in there either Koho I feel that he has really sat back during the season and is just waiting to go to Grand Forks to play for the Sioux. If Ness doesn't win I would really like to see Brown win it if not I would like to see Barnes.

Does Fienhage really only have 13 points and up for Mr. Hockey? I don't know if Maxpreps is accurate with his stats but i find it strange that a player with 13 pts is up for the state's best player award

I like Gardiner for this simply because he will be the best pro player and that is often the Mr. Hockey winner

Oh did you go through time and spectate every top 10 finalist in their NHL career... No I didn't think so you can't just state what a kid is going to be in what maybe 4 or 5 years no, a lot of people don't even know what they will be doing in 2 or 3 years.

I believe it's a two horse race between Gardiner and Ness. Both are having great years and are the best player on great teams. There pro rankings are the highest of the ten finalists, by far. With the voting done mostly by pro scouts, I think Gardiner will have the edge. Also, I like the idea Gardiner stuck around for his senior year, and Ness decided to forgo his.

i think if they went through the hoops to make Ness a Senior they want him as their MR. Hockey.

Garnier and Yuoso are also very good choices though

This year I would have to say Student Feinaghe really has laid back, like I said earlier I think someone else is more deserving then Cory Feinaghe.

Like Adam Mueller? I've watched him play 3 times this year and he carried Roseville on his back in their win and tie against WBL including the game where he had 4 goals. I don't know how they left this kid off the ballot.

Great group of players on this list. Hendrickson from Burnsville deserves an honorable mention. In the end, I hope that Ness or Barnes gets the nod for Mr. Hockey. One is a defensman and the other a forward but both have been leaders on their teams.

Congrats to all 10 and good luck!!

calm down it's not that big a deal. and obviously i can't see in the future. what i was saying is gardiner is expected to be the best pro (not just by me, this is nhl scouts talking as well). and what does spectate mean???

Good list, but after tonights game I think you can drop Youso off as much as I hate to say it. Thought he would have done better on the face-offs - he normally does. Landman schooled him. Did not notice him win many at all.
Watched the Edina game Saturday - Gleason not overly impressive so I would take him off too.
Everything I have heard about Barnes is pretty impressive.
Gardiner sounds like he will be good at the next level but sounds like he has struggled some - I really do not know much about him though and have not seen him play. It seems Ness is the cream of the crop and the proscouts seem to think so too based on most recent rankings.
Think it will be between Ness, Barnes and Gardiner.

Nice Eval', Fargo... I too would vote Ness as the favorite to win Mr. Hockey this year!

Probably because Mueller is the 3rd best player in his confernce, which is on a down year

I agree that Ness will win Mr. Hockey buy Youso's face off percentage will have no effect on how many votes he receives.
