I've got this one....... (I'm the head coach for the Rochester Junior Gold B team). Info pertaining to our team can be obtained through the RYHA website:

Basically Junior Gold hockey is high school age/level hockey that is offered through the various youth hockey programs throughout the state. There are both A and B levels. Since Rochester youth hockey feeds 4 high school teams, we normally field a team at the B level. Larger area's such as White Bear Lake field both A and B teams as the have larger numbers and a deeper talent pool to draw from.
Junior Gold is a great option for kids (age 15-18 that are still in high school) that either live in surrounding towns that don't offer high school hockey, or kids that may have been cut from a local high school team, or for kids that maybe don't have the desire to compete on a high school team. The games are competitive, usually fast paced, and everyone that I know that has ever played Junior Gold, has really had a blast.
We (Rochester) play in District 8 which is a 16 game schedule, plus we have 4 stand alone tournaments during the season. There is also the D8 play-offs at the end of the season which sends two teams to the Junior Gold B State Tournament, so a Junior Gold season can be 30-40 games.
I think the program is awesome!
Thanks for asking.... and I hope this helped!

Hey Jake - your playing for the Rochester Century High School team this year, what are you doing over here on the Jr. Gold forum? And you goof ball, what are you doing stirring up rumors and stuff about players, coaches, and the other teams? Are you guys just bored over there (not enough games to keep you busy) or what?
Check out the high school forum and best of luck to you the rest of the season.
