First round of sections play

Post by Lakeviewing »

It seems the first round of section playoffs are either a big win with #1 and #2 versus #8 or #7, but the #3 and #4 teams versus #5 and #6 teams typically, go down to the wire. Is it better to play a tougher team in the first round of sections??

Playing a tougher team worked for #7 Rogers who beat #2 Champlin. :D

playoff time is not a time to shy away from the tough games it is a time to embrace them and face them head on.
Would a team like to play a whole season against the bottom 25 teams in the state?

of course not but i would bet every team in the state would rather play a cooper (8) over a wayzata (5) or armstrong (6) in the first round. every team will face tough games in sections, i just think everyone would rather have their first game a little easier, getting over the nerves of playoff hockey while being able to get a win under their belt.
